20 Drilling the Core Samples First Step: Locating a drill that can obtain the size sample needed for testing. Second Step: Designing and building an apparatus that will enable a drill used vertically to drill horizontally Third Step: Locating rebar in the girders and bridge deck. Accomplished by referencing As- Builts and Non-Destructive Testing using a Multi-Scanner. Fourth Step: Hooking the drill onto the girder Fifth Step: Drill Baby Drill Results: A Beautiful 7 inch Core Sample End Note: Testing of Core Samples showed the that the concrete was good.
