2 Who we are Pacific Gas & Electric Company Incorporated in California in 1905 One of the largest combination gas and electric transmission and delivery companies in the US 70,000 square mile service area in central and northern California 107,000 electric distribution and 18,500 transmission circuit miles 43,000 miles of natural gas distribution and 6,500 miles transmission 5.4 million electric and 4.3 million gas customer accounts 2
3 What is FLISR? Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration Tool used to increase reliability by quickly identifying fault locations through SCADA monitored devices Uses centralized system with advanced logic to isolate the fault between SCADA devices If all parameters (load/safety) are met, analyzes available back ties and restores as many customers as possible FLISR aims to restore as many customers as possible, safely, within 5 minutes of an outage, increasing reliability. 3
4 FLISR Deployment System 905 distribution circuits Installed over 2,500 SCADA devices (reclosers and switches) Continue to expand the system by 100 circuits and 300 SCADA devices annually
