Students will demonstrate knowledge of basic plant science, soil soil testing, integrated pest management, evaluating the cost of production using different production techniques, developing crop production plans f various crops. Careers related to this field include namental edible crop production lscape hticulture. The program also provides a foundation f students in Ornamental Hticulture Lscape Architecture, affds local hticulturists wking professionals the means to upgrade their skills knowledge. Opptunities to obtain valuable experience are provided in the greenhouse/farm facility by wking to enhance campus lscapes. 1. Analyze a soil test pest management plan to produce a common crop in Santa Cruz County. Cabrillo offers options f degrees in Agriculture. The first option listed below is the Associate in Science in Agriculture Plant Science f Transfer (A.S.-T in Agriculture Plant Science), which is intended f students who plan to transfer complete a bachel s degree in Agriculture a similar maj at a CSU campus (CSU Chico, CSU Cal Poly Pomona CSU Stanislaus). Students completing the Agriculture Plant Science f Transfer are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus maj. This Associate in Science in Agriculture Plant Science f Transfer A.S.-T may not be the best option f students intending to transfer to a particular CSU campus to a university college that is not part of the CSU system. See Associate Degree f Transfer infmation in the Cabrillo College Catalog. The college also offers Hticulture degrees, including A.S. degrees in General Crop Science. Separate Certificates of Achievement may be obtained in other areas of concentration, eight Skills Certificates in Hticulture are available. The following is required f all A.A.-T A.S.-T degrees: Completion of 60 CSU-transferable semester. Minimum grade-point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSUtransferable coursewk. While a minimum of 2.0 is required f admission, some majs may require a higher GPA. Completion of a minimum of 18 semester in the maj with a letter grade of C better, a P if the course is taken on a Pass/ No Pass basis. Certified completion of the Califnia State University General Education- Breadth pattern (CSU GE Breadth) the IntersegmentalGeneral Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) pattern.
