Supports and advises management on all expansion relevant and strategic topics. 7. Head of Customer Service Manages customer-oriented after sales business. Responsible for preparing and implementing after sales plans and strategies. Ensures positive, customer-oriented attitude of customer service staff. Oversees customer complaint documentation and the problem-solving measures taken. 8. Key Account Manager Responsible for sales results and profitability for a defined group of large customers. Keeps business contact with business partners. Responsible for acquiring and discussing annual orders. Focuses on efficiency, sales maximization and cost minimization. Observes developments with large customers, which could impact future business. 9. Head of Sales Administration Responsible for administrative support of sales staff. As the Head of sales administration, is responsible for developing a sales system, providing sales staff with sales statistics and ensuring reasonable allocation of inventory in conjunction with sales; responsible for the team of employees processing orders, has strong product knowledge due to sales experience or a background in technical expertise. 3 10. Store Manager/Branch Manager Manages a full price store or outlet and is responsible for sales performance (revenue). Manages employees and ensures optimal employment of staff. Active in the operational side of sales. 11. Sales Representative Responsible for developing and maintaining revenues for a sales region, one or more product lines or one or more customers. Negotiates within predetermined targets and has defined sales targets. Reports to the sales manager or a comparable position. 12. Sales Controller/Sales Analyst Develops and monitors a key performance indicator system for analyzing sales performance and comes up with recommended courses of action. 13. Expansion Specialist Implements expansion, inventory and real estate strategy as part of the expansion policy. Identifies development needs and options, opportunities for growth and areas of risk. 14. Service Technician Carries out customer service work on highly technical equipment. 15. Sales Administration Clerk Responsible for administrative support of sales staff. As the official in charge of sales administration, is responsible for order processing and customer service, administrative and operational support of sales processes; also responsible for customer care as part of customer service, drawing up price calculations, invoices and cost quotes, administrative order processing, customer data maintenance, organizing and ensuring delivery, processing and verifying customer requests. 16. Call Center Agent Provides customer care over the phone. Acquires new customers (inbound and outbound), determines requirements, introduces products/services, agrees on deadlines and conducts customer surveys. 17. Promoter Presents and sells products at Point-of-Sale (POS) and at trade exhibitions. 18. Shop Salesperson Is present in the store on the floor and advises customers there with the goal of closing sales. Provides service at the cash register if necessary. Marketing Director/CMO As the Head of Marketing, is largely responsible for the marketing and brand strategy, provides support for a complex offering of products/services through sales promotions (marketing mix) and makes key contributions to new products/services in conjunction with management functions. 20. Head of Marketing Plans, develops and carries out marketing activities. Participates in marketing strategies for which the management board is responsible, responsible to write reports on competitors and market developments and to provide stimulus for new products/services. 21. Head of Corporate Communications Responsible for planning and managing all corporate communications processes. Assumes direct external communications functions of the company and development of public relations. Designs and runs the company Website, realizes communications concepts and public relations work. 22. Marketing Manager Responsible for planning, conceiving and implementing operational marketing and PR measures. Provides support in defining marketing and communications strategies. Organizes marketing materials and advertising resources. Collaborates with PR and advertising agencies. 23. Product Manager Strategic management of individual products or product lines. Oversees marketing and sales promotion programs to stimulate demand for a special line of products/services and to ensure these programs are implemented. 24. Marketing Specialist Responsible for a specific subarea in the Marketing Division. Works as a specialist in his/her area of responsibility. Functions as a professional contact partner there. Develops concepts based on higher-ranking guidelines and is responsible for their implementation. 25. PR/Communications Specialist Carries out direct external communications and public relations work for the company. 5 Finance 26. Finance Director/CFO Responsible for all company financial matters. Develops, optimizes and monitors processes in the entire financial division and in several countries if necessary. Develops a corporate-wide financing structure, develops financing policy, conceives of and monitors reporting systems, often in different accounting areas. 27. Head of Finance/Accounting Responsible for all company financial matters. Further develops and optimizes processes in a structured financial division, interprets operating results in relation to financial issues; conceives of and monitors reporting systems, responsible for preparing annual financial statements. 28. Head of Controlling Develops, implements and monitors fiscal key performance indicator systems to support targeted corporate management and controls cost-effectiveness. 29. Head of Accounting Responsible for developing an efficient reporting system for accounting and ensuring its proper use. Responsible for making monthly, quarterly and annual statements; ensures the correctness of the books. Assumes responsibility for bookkeeping and technical management. 30. Auditing Specialist Conceives and monitors an internal system for independent and objective assessment of processes, structures and financial postings. Discloses financial inefficiencies, manipulations or irregularities. 31. Tax Specialist Responsible for keeping to national and international tax laws. Optimizes time and amounts of taxes owed to be paid. 32. Financial Analyst Draws up monthly, quarterly and annual statements as well as forecasts, analyses and statistics to prepare the management for decision-making; assists with budget and planning processes. 33. Controlling Specialist Draws up reports and analyses to control the cost effectiveness of business management. Prepares strategic/operative decisions. Carries out cost and performance accounting. 34. Accountant Uses the reporting system to draw up monthly, quarterly and annual statements. Verifies accounts and salary documentation. Ensures correctness of final reports. 35. 6 Human Resources 36. HR Director/CHRO Plans, manages and controls all strategic and operative human resources policy measures. As the Head of Human Resources, is responsible to develop and implement HR strategies of a multinational company or responsible to conceive of and implement more efficient and more effective processes and structures for all areas of specialization in HR for several countries. Manages an employee team to which HR Heads in national organizations or business units also belong. 37. Head of Human Resources Plans, manages and controls all strategic and operative human resources policy measures. As the Head of Human Resources, is responsible to shape the HR strategies of a company with a large number of employees (predominantly nationally), to further develop processes and structures in an HR division with various areas of specialization; reports to the Managing Head and manages a team of employees. 38. Head of Legal Responsible for the legal correctness of all the company s contractual relationships. Advises corporate management. Observes legislative procedures and if necessary (proactive) comes up with recommended courses of action for the company. 39. HR Manager/Business Partner Responsible for operative human resources management activities such as recruiting and organizational/personnel development measures. Key contact partner for employees and management in the area of HR and (labor) law. Provides support in implementing HR tools (agreement on objectives, competency management, remuneration, etc.). Assists in implementing and optimizing HR processes. 40. Payroll Accounting Specialist Responsible for efficient, proper and on-time administration of wages/salaries, social security contributions and related taxes. 41. Human Resources Specialist Implements human resources policy measures as part of defined processes and structures. Supports a select staff group in all HR policy matters or is a specialist in HR tasks (recruiting, professional development, remuneration, social systems). 42. 7 IT 43. IT Director/CIO Develops implements, operates and oversees IT systems, applications, processes and infrastructure. As the Head of IT, develops an IT strategy for a multinational company or for several countries with complex organizations. Responsible for preparing an efficient IT environment and infrastructure. Responsible for high degree of IT investment. 44. Head of IT Develops, implements, operates and oversees IT systems, applications, processes and infrastructure. Designs and implements IT strategy with a focus on a medium-sized national company. Further develops processes and structures in the division. Controls and supervises important IT projects. Initiates essential optimization programs and is responsible for implementing high cost investments. 45. IT Project Manager Plans, manages and oversees IT projects and processes, does requirements analyses and implements new processes; draws up project plans and is responsible for keeping budget, time schedule and quality specifications. 46. IT Applications Specialist Efficient and targeted planning, managing and further development of application portfolios as defined by user needs. Manages daily business and problem-solving business. 47. IT Operations Specialist Ensures trouble-free and efficient operation of hardware and software equipment in the back-end area and ensures functionality of central business systems and applications within a defined operating budget. 48. IT Service Specialist Responsible for precise and trouble-free preparation of hardware and software equipment in the front-end area. Ensures optimization and keeping of service quality in the problem-solving and project development business. 49. Programmer Is responsible as a programmer for developing, testing and modifying software (operating systems, applications, databases, network development). Extensive knowledge of the technical and corporate concepts required for complex programming tasks. Maintains close contact with manufacturers and software companies when introducing new programs. 8 Administration 50. Head of Facility Management Responsible for the managing the commercial, technical and infrastructural aspects of properties. Among other things, cleaning and maintenance services for interior and exterior facilities, security services (e.g., security and surveillance activity, reception services), food provision services (e.g., cafeteria operation, catering), central communication services (e.g., switchboard helpdesk) and other logistics services (e.g., postal, waste and car fleet management). 51. Executive Assistant Coordinates duties of management/board of Heads and supervisory board. Responsible for preparation and follow up of management meetings/board of Head and supervisory board meetings. Information is gathered from the departments and decisions and tasks are communicated to the departments. Is also, if needed, in charge of company legal matters and bylaw related affairs. 52. Translator Translates correspondence and publications assigned by superiors. 53. Clerk Independently performs tasks in respective areas, e.g., internal administration, exports and sales. 54. Secretary Provides extensive secretarial services for managers and staff. The work mainly includes general office administration related to arranging appointments, word processing and phone services. 55. Receptionist Responsible for answering incoming phone calls and receiving visitors; welcomes customers, salespersons and visitors; keeps visitor lists and carries out many routine secretarial jobs. 56. Janitor Carries out technical duties as part of the technical building infrastructure/building technology, including small repairs. Detects and remedies potential causes of accidents and records/reports defects and provides suggestions to eliminate them; monitors and checks technical/electrical systems and equipment, monitors building maintenance and maintains exterior facilities, including winter road maintenance. 57. Driver Transports management staff, company employees and visitors; transports company mail, packages and goods, occasionally outside normal hours of work. Responsible for vehicle maintenance and service. 58. Security Guard Responsible for protecting persons and property on company premises; does patrol checks and general watch-keeping duties. 9 Production 59. Production Director/COO Responsible for all production activities of the company or business unit. Is responsible to design and implement production specifications and policies, control and oversee the most important production plants, initiate important optimization programs and is responsible for implementing a high level of investment. 60. Head of Manufacturing/Production Responsible for all production activities of the company or business unit. Implements and optimizes all production processes and procedures in a smaller company or business segment, ensures achievement of production specifications under the most economical aspects possible; controls and supervises all production plants and manufacturing of all product lines; ensures implementation of optimization actions and investment measures. 61. Plant Manager Responsible for production plant activities. Ensures that volume, quality and cost targets are kept. The focus is on manufacturing. Other duties include assembly, quality control, in-house transportation, warehousing and scheduling. Oversees and coordinates production processes and other work processes. 62. Head of Process Engineering Responsible for planning and optimizing manufacturing processes of all company production systems and equipment. Interface function to development, design and testing of related specifications and methods in relation to conformity with existing manufacturing plants. Recommends improvements for production systems and equipment. Responsible for selecting and trying new procedures and suppliers. 63. Head of Service and Maintenance Responsible for managing, planning and controlling smooth operation of regular inspections, technical support and general maintenance of technical facilities in order to avoid disruptive incidents and production losses. Determines programs for preventative maintenance. 64. Head of Quality Management Plans, controls and implements all quality requirements in the company. Draws up, introduces and monitors documentation and the resulting work methods. Responsible for carrying out regular goods inspections, if necessary, under the direction of independent experts. Supports and advises purchasing. 65. Head of Production Planning Responsible for drawing up and keeping production plans, ensures preparation of all required raw materials and supplies through purchasing /materials management. Stays in touch with warehousing and sales to determine production planning timelines. This area of work can possibly be done by a qualified engineer. 66. Production Leader Responsible for realizing production plans, procedures and processes; ensures proper use of staff and equipment. Responsible for training employees in the workplace, employee supervision and disciplinary measures. Reports to technical engineer or equivalent. 67. Technical Engineer Responsible for efficient manufacturing in a production plant, which is usually limited to a certain product line. Manages employees in production processes through the plant foreman and assistant foreman. Coordinates manufacturing processes, maintenance and other related activity, and follows safety regulations. 10 68. Production Foreman Ensures smooth workflow. Organizes and assigns jobs/work according to specifications of the head foreman or engineer, and controls the implementation and results. 69. Quality Assurance Specialist Realizes quality requirements within the given guidelines in all company departments. Draws up and keeps documentation and the resulting work methods. Samples and controls goods. 70. Quality Control Inspector Tests goods as part of the established test procedures to assure agreed upon quality. 71. Production Technician Answers to the foreman/assistant foreman; responsible for manufacture/assembly of production parts, semi-finished or finished products at the workbench or on the assembly line; uses simple hand tools, power tools or special production tools; independently carries out tasks that are sometimes quite diverse or complex; has a very good knowledge of production processes, tools, materials and machinery. 72. Production Worker Answers to the foreman/assistant foreman; works in manufacturing/assembly of production parts, semi-finished or finished products at the workbench or on the assembly line; uses simple hand tools, power tools or special production tools; carries out simple routine work under supervision. Uses standardized procedures, tools and machinery. Logistics/SCM 73. SCM Director/CSCO Responsible for planning, managing and controlling all aspects of goods distribution, selecting shippers and internal logistics. Ensures deliverability at all times and maintains an efficient inventory. Coordinates flow of goods and information in the supply chain and is responsible for their effectiveness and efficiency; ensures availability of trade products at all times and as quickly as possible at the POS; determines and advances logistical processes and structures, coordinates the supply chain in collaboration with external service providers if necessary. Manages a team of employees. 74. Head of Logistics/SCM Responsible for planning, managing and controlling all aspects of goods distribution, selecting shippers and internal company logistics. Ensures deliverability at all times and efficient inventory. Coordinates flow of goods and information within existing logistics processes; ensures availability of products at all times and as quickly as possible; coordinates the supply chain in collaboration with external service providers if necessary. Responsible for planning and carrying out defined subprojects to improve processes along the supply chain and manages a few employees if necessary. 75. Head of Purchasing Strategic planning and management of purchasing/procurement. Assesses needs and trends, identifies strategic product groups/suppliers and negotiates basic agreements. Responsible for implementing suitable order processes and tools, observing procurement markets, supplier searches and supplier qualifications. Works out purchasing and payment targets based on the corporate strategy. 76. Head of Warehouse Management Responsible for all processes within a warehouse, especially in relation to the effectiveness and efficiency of warehousing. 11 77. Head of Imports/Exports Develops, improves and oversees keeping of import/export regulations and customs declarations. Responsible for efficient carrying out of all imports and exports and keeping to an assigned budget. Establishes and maintains contacts with relevant customs and administrative offices. Manages a department or group of customs clearance agents. 78. Customs Declarations Specialist Responsible for keeping relevant customs regulations and documenting transactions. Keeps ledger of settled customs and fees, checks fee notices before approval. 79. Purchaser/Buying Agent Responsible for purchasing/procurement according to existing guidelines. Supports suppliers, usually with an agreement on terms. 80. Truck Driver Transports goods with company trucks. 81. Warehouse Worker Does one or more jobs in the warehouse: cleaning, sorting, (un)packing, counting inventory. Research & Development 82. R&D Director/CTO Responsible for realizing company R&D strategy. Designs and implements R&D strategy, controls and oversees important and complex research programs, develops processes for product improvement and/or new development, ensures the success of R&D activity and has considerable influence on budget preparation, manages a team of specialist and employees. 83. Head of R&D Responsible for realizing company R&D strategy. Develops R&D measures as part of existing R&D strategies and programs in a small company or business unit, responsible for proper documentation of applied and developed procedures, ensures marketability and keeping of high standards for the developed products, manages and oversees development projects. 84. Head of Laboratory Manages a lab team, organizes and coordinates lab work, carries out tests, develops and implements methods, plans budgets and is responsible for keeping work safety and health protection regulations in the lab area. 85. Lab Technician Responsible for and carrying out analyses, assisting with method development and evaluation, training temporary workers and preparing documentation/logs. 86. Construction/Design Engineer Applies physical principles to analysis, development, manufacture and maintenance of new mechanical systems or makes adaptations to already existing mechanical systems. Optionally links tenders to CAD, carries out tests, makes prototypes, production processes and calculations in order to develop and realize new designs and products.
