Covering the process end-to-end make this solution very efficient on completing forensic examinations and sharing necessary information on the run time with all forensic experts as needed. LIMS SOLUTION offers a last Microsoft.NET technology solution as an enterprise-level information system that brings together all forensic activities into a single platform, offering a comprehensive case investigation and evidence examination life cycle in a manner compliant with the guidelines of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD-LAB). Predefined with system parameters make this solution very advanced and flexible as being adopted to any implementation scenario or to the changes of business process without any additional programming in very efficient way within minimum time frame. Comprehensive Case Management LIMS SOLUTION software is fully solution that covers the case movement end to end. Configurable solution adoptable to the changes providing a comprehensive data management solution for even the most complex forensic laboratory environments/ scenario or standards. Custody transfers can inherit items that are lower in the hierarchy so that an exhibit transfer can automatically transfer all related sub-exhibits. At the same time, status changes trickle up the hierarchy automatically so that completion of examinations within a lab division automatically lead to updating of the related exhibit to pending review status. Three levels of priority prior defining the time in days or hours when the case should be completed indicating outputs in audit trial and statistics. A Process Analysis Approach to Latent Prints In the definition of each step in the analysis of latent prints, users can define what procedures (steps and impressions) are required to complete the analysis. Users may be prompted to rate whether or not each impression is suitable for comparison. For each suitable impression, the system generates an AFIS request, including the required details, searches and attachments. AND - Genetic Analysis This module is used to define non-case related records, such as CODIS submissions (kits of known samples taken from convicted criminals). Genetic analysis can be performed on these kits as well as on samples collected in the field. Profiles can be compared within the system for similarity and also for relationship analysis. LIMS SOLUTION stores STR loci allele frequency tables for various populations, and generates reports covering all genetic analysis. Questioned Documents This module is to perform all analyses related to question documents including counterfeit currencies and various documents. All working methods can be created and modified in accordance with needs or methodology of work. Users can define what procedures (steps and impressions) are required to complete the examination and do the necessary analysis. Beside the reports and worksheets that are dedicated to question documents system has a photo album that is defined in case level allowing pictures to be stored without any limitation. Narcotics and Chemistry

4 This module is to perform all analyses regarding narcotics and other chemicals that are subject of Narcotics and Chemistry section examinations. Additional management tools for equipment calibration records specific to this section, reagent production etc. are included with possibility of further customization. Ballistics This module is to perform all analyses related to ballistics (fire arms, various serial numbers etc.) examination. Flexible work sheets with many features that present all possibilities methods for ballistic examination. Statistics Powerful analytic tool with dedicated search engine and OLAP service that gives many options for statistic including arithmetic, group etc. functions presented on reports that presents results in tables, various charts etc. that are available for print out or to be exported in many electronic formats (PDF, Word, Excel etc). 1.3 Security - Authorized Use Permission LIMS SOLUTION is a system with defined security, which is present in two parts: Application Security and Users Security. Application security involving: Activation - After installation system requires the license key, which is unique for any installation, Session - where after certain time (as defined in application configuration system shutdown if no activities are made), Data Security - that beside data integrity all changes or delete can be restored no matter how many time took place and Application configuration General system parameters (SMTP, Organizational information s and other parameters that are controlling system behavior. Users Security involving: User Account control creation new account, restrictions of existing accounts etc, User Access privileges details definition of each control, form or report using groups or individual configuration and

5 User Activities providing detailed activity information for each user activity in every session. 1.4 Workflow LIMS SOLUTION provides detailed picture about the status of each evidence or case in single click. Covering the complete process end to end online only when physical contact with evidence is necessary starting with: - Case Receiving where the submitter in recorded, - Identifying the section or sections (if there is more that one sections than examination priority order is defined) that is a subject of evidence examination, - Automatic Section information for new case notification after the case is received in evidence room the examination section is identified, the person in charge in section get the notification for new case from the system or (Depending as it is chosen from system parameters) and delegates the case to the expert, - Secure and paper less chain of custody - only person that that are assigned to the case can withdraw the evidences only if his identity is confirmed and evidence assigned to him checked before hi/ she takes it for further examination (on every evidence handover card of receiver is scanned together with evidence barcode and only after the confirmation can be processed further), - Online Case processing as experts physically receives the evidence records all information s that identifies and continues with examination that after is completed immediately goes for Administrative Review that if no objections continues with Quality Control. All this information s are maintained online including comments that exchanged between experts that are recorded and linked with particular case, - Automatic case close notification depending from scenario, system will automatically sent one notification to the persons involved with the case outside of laboratory as examination for particular case is completed. - Reexamination Incase if examination doesn t meet expected quality, evidence can be a subject of reexamination that is handled with separate procedure.
