Emerging markets: communication service providers (CSPs) are aiming to automate provisioning flow-through and minimise order fallout. 5 Dashboard: Service fulfilment professional services revenue market shares KEY MARKET DEVELOPMENTS IN 2015 Growth in service fulfilment (SF) in 2015 came from traditional OSS systems deals, reflecting the vast majority of CSPs revenue still coming from physical, conventional networks. High interest areas for CSPs are centred around NFV-enabling systems such as service orchestrators and next generation process automation. Fulfilment took a more central role in the OSS in 2015, as the connection between business and network challenges became more important. DELIVERY MODEL DEVELOPMENTS IN 2015 Hosted/cloud delivery: hosted managed-service agreements for SF are increasing in frequency, as is software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery. On-premises deployment remains the default delivery method for CSPs, but digital service providers (DSPs) often seek cloud-based alternatives. Some larger vendors are limiting the amount of work available to independent systems integrators (SIs) by including integration services in product/service bundles. 7 About the author Dean Ramsay (Senior Analyst) is a member of Analysys Mason's Telecoms Software research team. He leads the Service Fulfilment research programme and contributes content to the CSP IT Strategies programme. He has 16 years' experience in the telecoms industry, working initially in network inventory management at MCI Worldcom and Verizon Business and, subsequently, as a service delivery manager with several Tier 2 carriers and interconnect providers.
