GENERAL CLARIFICATIONS 3.01 In all instances where indicated throughout the Bid Documents, revise the term "Renewal & Additions" to "Renovation & Additions". This updated reference shall be used in all future correspondence regarding this project The temporary modular classrooms, asphalt pads and associated walkways indicated on Sheets A-001 and C-36, are to be provided in their entirety by FCPS, including all utilities, walkways and landings. Contractor shall coordinate with FCPS In the event of a discrepancy between the structural and architectural drawings regarding slab infill locations, Contractor shall refer to architectural demolition drawings to coordinate the extent of floor slab infills, and provide infill where existing slabs are removed.
2 WHITE OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RENOVATION & ADDITIONS Addendum#3 SPECIFICATIONS Revise Paragraph 2.02.A Phasing Schedule as follows: Date of Substantial Completion for Summer 2017 shall be August, First day of school August 28, Date of Substantial Completion for Summer 2018 and Phase 3 shall be August, Revise Paragraph 3.03.D as follows: "Owner will arrange for rental of trailers to facilitate continuation of classes during work on classrooms." Add paragraph 2.01.C as follows: "C. Invasive Species Suppression Allowance: $50, This allowance is provided to cover suppression of invasive plant species encountered at the project site. Suppression shall take place just prior to final inspection by Fairfax County. At this site, the best suppression method will be to cut the invasive species to the ground and treat regrowth with appropriate herbicides. Fairfax County Urban Forestry Division shall approve methodology in advance of implementation. The cost of any items paid for out of this allowance shall be confirmed by a Change Order including materials, labor, insurance, payroll taxes, supervision, bond premium costs, transportation, equipment rental, etc., and the percentages for overhead and profit set forth in the Conditions of the Contract. Contractors shall not include any additional mark-up on the allowance in the bid." Add paragraph 2.01.D as follows: "Contractor option to provide roll goods or tile mats." Replace Specification Section with Section included in this Addendum. DRAWINGS 3.09 C-4 Delete Keyed Demolition Note #7. Hydrant is to remain as shown on Sheet C.5 and on the Fireline "A" profile on Sheet C C-4 Revise Keyed Demolition Note #31 as follows: "UGE serving lights to be abandoned." 3.11 C-9 Walkway graphically indicated as asphalt on west side of basketball court shall be 6" concrete per Sheet C C-16 Clarification: The six listed trees on the Legend are the only trees - recommended by arborist - to be removed. Any additional trees on the inside of the limits of clearing and grading shall be removed C-32 Detail PA-11. Delete reference to 5" VDOT Class "A" concrete pad. Concrete pad is not to be provided.
3 WHITE OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RENOVATION & ADDITIONS Addendum# A-001 Revise plan note referencing existing shed to add the following sentence: "Relocated shed will sit on a new concrete pad 4" thick with WWM and 4" stone base. New utility connections not required. Location determined by FCPS." 3.15 A-001 Sidewalk adjacent to bus loop graphically indicates twenty-five (25) circles, which are scheduled as bollards. Provide bollards with yellow sleeves per attached sketch SKA-5. Install 10 feet center-to-center. Final layout to be determined in field A-003 Delete Detail 2 / A-003 Canopy Section. Replace with attached SKA-7, reflecting the basis-of-design canopy manufacturer, Ballew Aluminum G-104 Revise plan note referencing Admin. Trailer to add the following sentence: "Utilities to trailer shall be routed to nearest electric room or comm room within the building." 3.18 G-105 Revise Phasing Key and Description: Date of Substantial Completion for Summer 2017 shall be August, First day of school August 28, Date of Substantial Completion for Summer 2018 and Phase 3 shall be August, A-101 Revise plan note as follows: "Fire marshall key vault shall be furnished by FCPS and installed by Contractor." 3.20 A-201 Revise Exterior Color Schedule as follows: Brick Color 1 (BR1) shall be M/S Velour Dixie Rose as manufactured by Cherokee Brick & Tile, Macon, GA Brick Color 2 (BR2) shall be M/S Velour Cherokee Rose as manufactured by Cherokee Brick & Tile, Macon, GA 3.21 A-401 All equipment and fixture mounting heights on Sheets A-401, A-402 and A A shall be modified to conform with the standards and dimensions A-403 indicated in Specification Section Applicable FCPS Standards A-501 Detail 6/A-501: Revise dimension for kitchen curb from 1'-7" to 1'-0" A-601 Revise note in header area of Door and Frame Schedule to read: "All exterior masonry door openings to receive galvanized door frame." 3.24 A-605 Replace Bid Set Sheet A-605 with Sheet A-605 issued in this Addendum A-804 Revise note on Detail 6/A804 to read: "Wall pad with 7/16" OSB backer board per manufacturer recommendation." 3.26 S3.2 Replace detail 3/S3.2 with Sketch SK-1 issued with this Addendum S3.2 Replace detail 4/S3.2 with Sketch SK-2 issued with this Addendum.

Drawings and General Provisions of Contract, including General Conditions and Division 1 Specifications Sections, apply to the Work of this Section, with special attention to the following: 1. Summary of Work: Section DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Work in this section includes furnishing and installation of extruded aluminum overhead hanger rod style canopies and extruded aluminum post supported canopies as manufactured by Ballew's Aluminum Products, Inc. B. Related Items and Considerations 1.03 RELATED WORK 1. Flashing of various designs may be required. Generic flashing supplied by Ballew's Aluminum Products, Inc. Specialty flashing to be supplied by approved installer. 2. Downspouts to be supplied by Ballew's Aluminum Products, Inc. and installed by approved installer. 3. Determine wall construction, make-up and thickness. 4. Ensure adequate wall condition to carry canopy loads where required. 5. Consider water drainage away from canopy where necessary. 6. Products meeting these specifications established standard of quality required as manufactured by Ballew's Aluminum Products, Inc., 2 Shelter Drive Greer, SC Field Measurement A. Confirm dimensions prior to preparation of shop drawings when possible. B. If requested, supply manufacturer s standard literature and specifications for canopies. C. Submit shop drawings showing structural component locations/positions, material dimensions, foundation systems, and details of construction and assembly Performance Requirements A. Canopy must conform to local building codes. B. Canopy shop drawings and calculations must be signed and sealed by an engineer licensed within the Commonwealth of Virginia. C. Canopy shop drawings shall include the structural requirements of canopy substrate materials not by canopy manufacturer Deliver, Storage, Handling A. Deliver and store all canopy components in protected areas. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS AND PRODUCTS A. Manufacturers: 1. Meet or exceed standards of manufacture, appearance, performance, function, and design of Ballew s Aluminum Products, Inc. B. Acceptable Canopy Products: White Oaks ES /11
15 PREFINISHED ALUMINUM CANOPIES SECTION Ballew s 3 inch extruded deck, inch deep x 6 inch wide section, fabricated from.060 inch thick aluminum with grooves on 1/3 points B. Extruded Fascia Profiles: 1. Ballew s 3.00 inch wide x 6.00 inch tall x.080 inch thick aluminum] C. Beams: Extruded I beams or C beams and U (drain) beams of sufficient depths to adequately support imposed loads. D. Columns: 1. 4 x 4 x.125 inch thick extruded aluminum tube column, 6005-T5 alloy E. Overhead Hangers: 1. 1 ½ x 1 ½ x.125 inch thick extruded aluminum tubing 6005-T5 alloy. 2.2 MATERIALS A. Smooth aluminum: Extrusions: Meeting requirements of ASTM B221, alloy T6, 6063-T5, or 6063-T6. B. Anchorage Devices, Clips and Fasteners: Manufacturer's standard type, compatible with materials being secured, of size and spacing sufficient to resist indicated loads. Above roof deck, utilize fasteners with neoprene washers. C. Sealants: Single component silicone, in color to match sheets and extrusions. D. Accessories: Flashings, brackets, gutters, downspouts and other items as necessary for complete system. 2.4 FINISHES A. Factory Applied Polyester Paint Finish: Comply with AAMA, 603.8, chemically cleaned, conversion coated primer, followed by factory applied baked polyester enamel coating. Color: As selected from manufacturer s standard colors PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 Inspection A. Confirm that surrounding area is ready for the canopy installation. B. Installer shall confirm dimensions and elevations to be as shown on shop fabrication drawings provided by Ballew. White Oaks ES /11
16 PREFINISHED ALUMINUM CANOPIES SECTION C. Erection shall be performed by an approved installer and scheduled after all concrete, masonry and roofing in the area is completed 3.02 Installation A. Installation shall be in strict accordance with manufacturer s shop drawings.
