1 NOVEMBER 17, 2017 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA ADDENDUM NO. 1, IFB Y CC LAKE LUCIE EQUESTRIAN TRAILHEAD PARKING AREA Bid Opening Date: November 30, 2017 This addendum is hereby incorporated into the bid documents of the project referenced above. The following items are clarifications, corrections, additions, deletions and/or revisions to, and shall take precedence over, the original documents. Underlining indicates additions, deletions are indicated by strikethrough. A. Bid opening date remains November 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. B. Clarifications: 1. Clarification: Please reference the attached design detail for constructing the hitching post: Exhibit A Hitching Post Detail C. On drawing sheet C101 delete note New Hand Pump Well by Others. D. On drawing sheet L-101 delete note Hand Pump Well (Additive Bid Item #1). E. In Part D of the IFB, delete page D-2 of the Official Bid Form in its entirety and replace with the attached REVISED PAGE D-2. QUESTION: There are 2 details on the plan sheet C401 for the parking lot rock details, there is a 9 and a 9A detail. Please specify what detail is to be used for construction. ANSWER: Use detail 9A on sheet C401 with Mirafi Xseries 500X fabric or approved equal for crushed concrete stabilization. 2. QUESTION: On the north trail head access gate, the civil plan sheet C101 shows a 16 gate, and the landscape sheet L101 shows this as a 12 gate. Please specify the correct size. Y CC Page 1 of 4

2 ANSWER: The north trail head access gates are to be 16 wide. 3. QUESTION: The plans call for an animal proof trash receptacle, typical similar projects all require a Bear Saver Can to be installed for trash collection. Can you please provide a make and model and color of the required receptacle? ANSWER: Bear Saver trash receptacle, Model CE series, Double Trash/Recycling Enclosure #CE240-CH in Fir Green color and with Trash/Recycle is the basis of design. 4. QUESTION: Landscape plans call for a hand pump well as an alternative. Can you please provide specifications for the well? ANSWER: See paragraph C and D above in this addendum. 5. QUESTION: Plans show sodding for the right of way area and rear swale to be Bahia, the remaining site areas are listed as natural. If during construction, areas outside the parking lot are disturbed, please indicate the required restoration. ANSWER: Pine needle mulch shall be applied over disturbed areas so native vegetation can regrow. 6. QUESTION: Landscaping is included for the front area of the project but there is no irrigation plans or water onsite. Without regular watering, how are we to keep the plants and trees alive? ANSWER: Landscaping is composed of native plant materials and shall be hand watered during establishment period. Schedule for watering, within the contract period, shall be as follows; days 1-30 every day, days every other day, days every third day. 7. QUESTION: During the pre-bid meeting it was discussed that an Arbor Permit from the city of Apopka was the only permit required for the project. Please confirm that this is the only required permit and will the county or GC be handling the permit application or payments? ANSWER: The only permit required for this project will be the Arbor Permit from the City of Apopka. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining and paying for the Arbor Permit. 8. QUESTION: Is any type of recycled stone acceptable for the parking lot? ANSWER: Alternate stone may be used provided it meets AASHTO #57 stone specifications. No recycled material will be allowed. 9. QUESTION: Tree saves on the plans call for 2x4 areas built 10 from the trunk or to the outside of the drip line (whatever is greater). Some of these areas will interfere with the parking lot if they are extended that length, can we shorten them up as needed? Is orange safety fence a suitable alternative to the wood? 3 ANSWER: Tree save areas may be shortened from trees with proximity to the parking area provided that the barrier is no closer than 5 from any trunk of trees to be saved. Contractor may use orange safety fence provided that it is tightly secured and is maintained through-out construction. Contractor to follow city s LDC sections and G. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ADDENDA 1. The Bidder/Proposer shall acknowledge receipt of this addendum by completing the applicable section in the solicitation or by completion of the acknowledgement information on the addendum. Either form of acknowledgement must be completed and returned not later than the date and time for receipt of the bid or proposal. 2. All other terms and conditions of the IFB remain the same. 3. 4 To the Board of County Commissioners Orange County, Florida The Undersigned, hereinafter called "Bidder", having visited the site of the proposed project and familiarized himself with the local conditions, nature and extent of the work, and having examined carefully the Contract Form, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Plans and Specifications and other Contract Documents, with the Bond requirements herein, proposes to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and other items, facilities and services for the proper execution and completion of: LAKE LUCIE EQUESTRIAN TRAILHEAD PARKING in full accordance with the drawings and specifications prepared in accordance with the Contract Documents and, if awarded the Contract, to complete the said work within the time limits specified for the following LUMP SUM. BASE BID: DOLLARS (In Words) $ In the event the Contract is awarded to this Bidder, he/she will enter into a formal written agreement with the County in accordance with the accepted bid within ten (10) calendar days after said Contract is submitted to him/her and will furnish to the County a Contract Payment and Performance Bond with good and sufficient sureties, satisfactory to the County, in the amount of 100% of the accepted bid. The Bidder further agrees that in the event of the Bidder's default or breach of any of the agreements of this proposal, the said bid deposit shall be forfeited as liquidated damages. Failure of the Bidder to provide pricing for all unit priced items and/or the Base Bid and ALL requested additive/deductive bid items, or alternate bids shall be cause for rejection of the bid as non-responsive.
