The natural colours of daylight are used to give a building atmosphere and character. Van Boven is considered a pioneer in the field of synthetic building products and has grown into one of the most important producers of synthetic daylight products. Translucent synthetic products are supplied for almost any application. From a single-walled polyester corrugated sheet to a daylight construction with multi-walled polycarbonate sheeting. Close-knit project team A close-knit team of staff continuously works on the development, application, manufacture and assembly of synthetic daylight products. They take into account the latest regulations, for example, in the field of insulation values, fire safety and design. Applications with spans of up to an impressive 20 metres using high-performance materials such as polycarbonate, acrylate, PVC or polyester are modified to suit the latest requirements, if required. It is a good idea for clients to engage our project team at an early stage, as this saves a lot of time and also prevents financial setbacks. Van Boven rooflights, daylight constructions, carports, boat shelters and patio roofs The Van Boven rooflights, daylight constructions and carports are manufactured as standard from high-performance acrylate or polycarbonate sheets in combination with aluminium sections. All possible constructions are produced and assembled in close consultation with the architect and/or client. Strict requirements, for example, in the field of impact resistance, insulation or fire safety are no problem at all for us. Freely supported spans of 1 to 9 metres are available as standard in the supply range. Larger spans of up to 20 metres are also among the many possibilities. Van Boven domelights Every Van Boven Plus domelight is fitted with a white enamelled aluminium edging section. Complete with synthetic sealing sections for a water and windproof seal, and a unique anti-burglar and tension-free connection system. Van Boven Standard domelights are made entirely from high-performance acrylate or polycarbonate, and are fitted with a screw connection system. All domelights are also available with various ventilation systems, from simple manually operated to extensive smoke and heat removal systems. Fibreglass-reinforced transparent corrugated and flat polyester sheets Choose from a range of more than 200 different profiles. Manufacture takes place on the ultramodern machines developed by Van Boven itself. The polyester sheets are manufactured to any desired length, provided they can be transported.. Novolon PVC Novolon PVC sheets are used in the construction, the agricultural and the private sector. The sheets are characterised by their optically clear light translucency. The Novolon PVC sheets are also available in a High Impact quality (HI), making the sheets 10 times stronger than the standard sheet. It is a widely known fact that careless storage, transportation and installation of the sheets can cause negative effects. Novolon sheets must be stored horizontally, preferably on a flat, dry surface, or on wooden supports at least 100 mm wide, placed at a maximum distance of 1000 mm. The maximum height of the stacked sheets must not exceed 1000 mm. For stacks of sheets with different lengths, the longest sheets must be at the bottom and the shortest sheets must be at the top. Where possible, the sheets must be stored indoors. If storage outdoors cannot be prevented, the following must be taken into account: The sheets must be covered by a reflective white waterproof covering film. The sheets must be protected from wind and water, and direct sunlight must be avoided. Any direct sunlight on the stack of sheets will result in very high temperatures. This will result in severe damage to and deformation of the sheets. Cutting The sheets must be cut by means of a hand or a power saw with a blade that has 6 8 teeth per cm. Cutting by hand must be done slowly at a low angle. Cutting with a power saw must be done using a 40/60 diamond blade at medium constant speed. The cutting must be performed carefully to prevent any vibrations and tension during cutting. Special attention must be paid when cutting at low and high temperatures. Drilling Drilling must be done at low speed. A standard metal drill is sufficient and any form of vibration or tension must be avoided while drilling. Special attention must be paid when drilling at low temperatures. The hole to be drilled must always be at least 4 mm larger than the diameter of the fastening bolts to be used. Always ensure that the drilled hole is properly sealed using a cap or cover. Assembly During installation the following guidelines must be observed: 1. For assembly on wooden purlins the wood must be completely dry. 2. The surface on which the sheets are mounted must have a light colour (preferably white). For assembly on steel purlins, the purlins must be taped off using reflective aluminium tape. 3. For assembly on roofs the pitch of the roof must be at least For roof sheets the sheets must always be attached in the top of the corrugation and for wall sheets in the valley. The standard fastening materials can be used, such as coach screws or hooks, possibly with spacers. Never nail the sheets! The mounting points must be at least 50 mm from the edge of the sheet. 5. The sheets must be mounted in the direction of the wind. 6. PVC sheets are not suitable for double-walled constructions. 7. 9 Novoclear triple-walled polycarbonate Novoclear triple-walled polycarbonate sheets are extruded from the almost unbreakable material polycarbonate. A surface protection is applied to the outside of the crystal-clear or opal-coloured corrugated sheets, guaranteeing a long service life. The Novoclear sheets were developed to create a triplewalled translucent construction in the easiest and fastest way possible. Because of their thickness of 6 millimetres, the sheets fit perfectly on existing fibre cement corrugated sheets. Assembly of profile sheets Mount the fibre cement sheets up to the underside and side meeting the rooflight sheet. Predrill holes in the correct mounting points. Tape the top of the rooflight sheet using butyl rubber (cable putty). 1 2 Temporarily position the fibre cement sheet in the position above the rooflight sheet. 4 5 Remove all the dust. Remove the rooflight sheet and fibre cement sheet and drill holes in the rooflight sheet using a 12 mm bit. Drill holes in the fibre cement sheets and remove all the dust! Mount the foam profiles on the purlins. 7 8 Position the fibre cement sheet at the top of the rooflight sheet. Temporarily position the rooflight sheet in its position, on top of the fibre cement sheets. Position the rooflight sheet in the correct location. 12 Warranty terms NOVOLON GT PVC sheets Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV hereby declares that the manufacturer of the NOVOLON GT crystal-clear PVC sheets guarantees the light transmission of its sheets as follows: If the light transmission of the NOVOLON GT crystal-clear PVC sheets is reduced by more than 20% of its original value during a period of 10 years after purchase and the sheets have been exposed to normal weather conditions in a Northern-European climate, the manufacturer will supply replacement NOVOLON GT sheets free of charge, provided that the sheets are professionally mounted. The warranty only covers resupply of the sheets free of charge; any additional costs, such as disassembly and reassembly costs, or any other additional costs, are excluded. Warranty conditions 1. The warranty only applies in Northern Europe, defined as north of 47 degrees latitude. 2. The warranty starts on the date of delivery and is only valid for the first buyer. Complaints must be accompanied by proof of purchase, for example, the delivery invoice. NOVOCLEAR single-walled polycarbonate sheets Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV hereby declares that the manufacturer of the NOVOCLEAR crystal-clear single-walled polycarbonate sheets guarantees the quality of its sheets as follows: A. If the light transmission of the NOVOCLEAR crystal-clear polycarbonate sheets is reduced by more than 10% of its original value (according to ASTM D ) during a period of 10 years after purchase and the sheets have been exposed to normal weather conditions, the manufacturer will supply replacement NOVOCLEAR sheets free of charge, provided that the sheets are professionally mounted. If the discolouration of the NOVOCLEAR crystal-clear polycarbonate sheets is reduced by more than 10 delta of its original value (according to ASTM D ) during a period of 10 years after purchase and the sheets have been exposed to normal weather conditions, the manufacturer will supply replacement NOVOCLEAR sheets free of charge, provided that the sheets are professionally mounted. B. For a period of 3 years full warranty against fracture caused by direct impact under normal weather conditions against the UVprotected side of the sheet. Damaged sheets will be subjected to a hail simulation test (according to EMPA ). Each tested sheet that remains unbreakable under impact of balls with a diameter of max. 20 mm, with an impact velocity of 21 m/s, is not covered by the warranty. C. The warranty only covers resupply of the sheets free of charge; TEGOPLUS polycarbonate sheets Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV hereby declares that the manufacturer of the TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets guarantees the quality of its sheets as follows: Modular TEGOPLUS systems are covered by a limited 10-year warranty, starting on the date of purchase. It is subject to the following conditions: a) Weather-resistance The yellowness index, measured according to ASTM D1925 standards, will over a period of 10 years change by less than 10 (ten) delta compared to the original value. The translucency, measured according to EN 410 ed. 04/98, will over a period of 10 years decrease by no more than 6 (six) percent compared to the original value. b) Warranty conditions 1. This warranty is only valid for modular TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets that are processed, stored, installed and maintained 3. Any other complaint, of any nature whatsoever, is excluded from this warranty term. 4. The warranty is only valid if the sheets are correctly stored, correctly handled, correctly installed and maintained as prescribed by Van Boven. 5. Van Boven must be directly informed of any complaint, no later than 28 days after the incident. Van Boven must be given the opportunity to investigate complaints on the site in question. Test pieces must be provided if so desired by Van Boven. 6. The warranty is only valid for sheets kept in the correct environment that have not come into contact with chemicals, paint or other corrosive materials. 7. The warranty is not valid for sheets that are thermally deformed or have been modified otherwise in relation to their original shape. 8. The warranty is only valid for sheets that are correctly installed, in accordance with the Van Boven installation instructions. 9. Van Boven is entitled to provide replacements for the damaged sheets free of charge, or to provide compensation covering the original purchase price of the sheets. any additional costs, such as disassembly and reassembly costs, or any other additional costs, are excluded. This warranty is valid for sheets and panels in the colours transparent, opal and bronze, installed vertically or sloping. 4. A request to make use of this warranty must be immediately sent to Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV by the client, no later than 10 days after discovering the defect, together with the following documents: sales invoice, full product code and the number of defective products. 5. This warranty is valid for products sold and installed within the European Community. c) Exceptions to the warranty This warranty will be void if one or more of the following recommendations and instructions have not been observed: TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets must be installed in accordance with our instructions and with the protective layer facing outwards. TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets must be protected against UV radiation and rain during storage prior to installation. TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets must be protected against chemical or corrosive substances. TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets must be protected against scratches and dents, and must be handled in the correct manner. TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets must not be thermoformed, heat-bended or machined using tools or methods that may negatively affect the properties or that may cause cracking. TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets must not be sealed or cleaned with unsuitable products. No unsuitable seals and/or fastening materials must be applied to TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets. Modular TEGOPLUS corrugated sheets must be applied using a bending radius matching the technical recommendations of Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV. Modular TEGOPLUS systems longer than 5 metres are not covered by this warranty. This warranty does not cover any damage caused by unintentional collisions and vandalism. The warranty is not valid without the documents stated under point 4 or if the client does not grant permission to inspect the materials in the installation location or does not grant permission to send a relevant sample to perform the associated tests. NOVOCLEAR triple-walled polycarbonate sheets NOVOCLEAR triple-walled polycarbonate is covered by a limited 10-year warranty, starting on the date of purchase. Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV hereby declares that the manufacturer of the NOVOCLEAR triple-walled polycarbonate sheets guarantees the quality of its sheets as follows: A. The yellowness index, measured according to ASTM D1925 standards, will over a period of ten years change by less than ten delta compared to the original value. B. The translucency, measured according to EN 410 ed. 04/98, will over a period of ten years decrease by no more than six percent compared to the original value. C. The product will not break as a direct result of weather conditions and the impact of hailstones. D. In this warranty, the word impact refers to a hailstone simulation test performed on a damaged sample during which no breakage occurs if polyamide balls with a diameter of 20 mm collide at a speed of 21 m/s. The warranty does not cover breakage due to impact from another cause. E. The warranty only covers resupply of the sheets free of charge; any additional costs, such as disassembly and reassembly costs, or any other additional costs, are excluded. Warranty conditions 1. This warranty is only valid for modular NOVOCLEAR polycarbonate sheets that are processed, stored, installed and maintained in accordance with the instructions and that have not come into contact with chemical or corrosive products. 2. This warranty is valid for NOVOCLEAR polycarbonate that has been installed and exposed to direct sunlight with the UV-protective layer on the correct side. Sheets and panels must be free from scratches and damage. 3. This warranty is valid for NOVOCLEAR triple-walled polycarbonate sheets with a minimum thickness of 6 mm and for NOVOCLEAR triple-walled polycarbonate sheets with UV protection. This warranty is valid for sheets and panels installed vertically or sloping. 4. Van Boven must be directly informed of any complaint, no later than 10 days after the incident. The complaint must be accompanied by the following documents: sales invoice, full product code, the number of defective products, a copy of the Installation, disassembly, transportation and third-party damage are excluded from the warranty. d) Limited liability If the request for warranty is received within the period stated and is deemed to be well-founded, Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV will replace the materials free of charge in accordance with the following table: Period after purchase Percentage of materials to be replaced Up to 5th year 100% 6th year 75% 7th year 60% 8th year 45% 9th year 30% 10th year 15% If Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV cannot supply the required sheets within a reasonable period of time to be determined by itself, Kunststoffenindustrie Van Boven BV is entitled to reimburse the original purchase price based on the percentage indicated in the above table. e) Competent court Any disputes will only be submitted to the District Court in Dordrecht.
