2 The IMERYS Huguenot 20x30 CLAY PLAIN TILE The economical innovation from IMERYS The 20x30 clay plain tile combines the larger economical size of 200x300mm with a discrete shoulder cross camber and unique anti-capillary channels, allowing installations down to 30 roof pitch. Due to its 43.5m 2 coverage and 115mm batten gauge, the 20x30 tile provides impressive cost saving options in respect of material and labour compared to traditional 265x165mm clay plain tiles without compromising aesthetics, making the 20x30 a leading contender for future projects without costing you the earth. 4 IMERYS Huguenot 20x30 Dry Fix AND Ventilation Faster, cleaner, more effective solutions FOR ALL ROOFS Dry fix ridge and valley TILE FIXING IMERYS Roof Tiles can provide, free of charge, windload calculations and fixing recommendations in accordance with BS553:2014 +A1: Dry Fix for Non-Interlocking Ridge/Hips Dry Vent ridge and hip systems are available. The NHBC now require that all ridges and hips are mechanically fixed even if a mortar bedded finish is chosen. The level of ventilation depends firstly on the roof design, cold or warm roof construction, the type of membrane being used vapour permeable/breathable or impermeable underlays, roof pitches above or below 35 or roof spans that exceed 10 metres. As a guide for most situations ventilation should be introduced at eaves or low level of 10,000 or 25,000 mm 2 /m and 5,000mm 2 /m at ridge or high level. Most dry vent ridge systems are designed to provide the required amount of ventilation at high level. These tile vents are mainly used for mechanical extraction and should be positioned in strategic areas of the roof line. All tiles should be selected from three pallets to ensure a good colour mix. The fixing of roof tiles should comply with wind loads appropriate to the site location and roof design.
