2 The IMERYS Beauvoise 20 Clay PLAIN TILE Economical clay plain tiles and slates The Beauvoise 20 is the original interlocking clay plain tile and clay slate, and provides an affordable economical alternative to traditional plain tiles or expensive natural or composite slate. Its unique design not only reduces material and labour costs but over 50% batten savings combined with significant reduction in CO2 emissions and overall weight per square metre installed. This is all achieved by its coverage of only 20.5 tiles per m 2 and nominal variable batten gauge of 245mm making the Beauvoise 20 a natural choice for your next project. FEATURES A small elegant interlocking plain tile or slate, with an attractive thin leading edge, the Beauvoise 20 provides a cost effective solution with flexible roofing applications both as a plain tile or clay slate. For practical reasons each tile has been designed with two blind nail holes to enable ease and speed of fixing with excellent mechanical resistance to facilitate pedestrian access at roof pitches down to 22.5 minimum. The Beauvoise 20 is an innovative modern tile and has proved to be a natural alternative for new build or renovation projects with maintenance free dry fix options, available in four distinctive and appealing colours. 4 IMERYS Beauvoise 20 Dry Fix AND Ventilation Faster, cleaner, more effective solutions FOR ALL ROOFS TILE FIXING BS5534:2014 +A1:2015 states that all interlocking tiles must be mechanically fixed. IMERYS Roof Tiles can provide, free of charge, windload calculations and fixing recommendations in accordance with UK Standards. The NHBC now require that all ridges and hips are mechanically fixed even if a mortar bedded finish is chosen. Ventilation Options Roof Ventilation should comply with building regulations and the control of condensation on buildings outlined in BS 5250:2011 +A1:2016 and Approved Document C2:2004 (amended 2010). The level of ventilation depends firstly on the roof design, cold or warm roof construction, the type of membrane being used vapour permeable/breathable or impermeable underlays, roof pitches above or below 35 or roof spans that exceed 10 metres. As a guide for most situations ventilation should be introduced at eaves or low level of 10,000 or 25,000 mm 2 /m and 5,000mm 2 /m at ridge or high level. Spacing centres to achieve ventilation area of 5,000mm 2 /m: 2.0 metres or 1.0 metre centres for 10,000mm 2 /m. Beauvoise Burnt Red 30 Year Guarantee IMERYS Roof Tiles are covered by a comprehensive 30 year guarantee of durability provided that they have been installed in compliance with BS5534:+A1:2015, BS6399 Part 2:1997 and BS8000-6: 2013 Workmanship on Building Sites. All tiles should be selected from three pallets to ensure a good colour mix. The fixing of roof tiles should comply with wind loads appropriate to the site location and roof design.
