2 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES Under the general direction of the Pastor, Trustees, Engineer and designated First Missionary Baptist Church (FMBC) personnel, the Contractor shall provide material, labor, professional support and assistance to accomplish the following: 1.1. GENERAL The Contractor shall furnish all construction services to include furnishing all labor, materials and equipment required for the complete execution of a Marquee sign as specified herein, as described in scope of work, Exhibit A, B, and C and as reasonably inferred to be performed by FMBC. All services shall be guaranteed for two years by the contractor and performed with the utmost professionalism in accordance with the best practices of the trade and horticultural procedures. Contractor must meet all City and State requirements The contractor shall be available for consultation if necessary Without restricting the generality of the foregoing, the following work items are included: The removal of portions of the existing sign. The complete installation of a minimum 16 millimeter LED sign viewable in both directions of travel mm LED sign MESSAGE BOARD shall have housing both sides (min. 3 x 8 ); Full color with minimum 10,000 NITs diode sign; Existing frame shall be totally removed. Quote pending Variance and permits to be obtained by Owner s Engineer. Electrical upgrade requirements shall be installed by Owner. Complete-in-place installation with remote programmable module with owner s training shall be provided by contractor. LED shall include a light detector/photocell which causes brightness to dim to levels acceptable to ambient light conditions. The LED sign shall contain a default design which freezes in one predetermined position if a malfunction occurs. Remove/Salvage existing signage foundation to provide a stable, plumb, and symmetrical new marquee with allocation for dead loads, live loads, and wind loads. Brick pattern of new marquee shall be a minimum of five feet above ground level to the start of a minimum 3 x 8 LED. Structure color shall be approved by owner and new Brick bottom shall match existing brick veneer on church or meet owner s approval. Landscaping shall be provided by owner. 2. BID TIME LINE 2.1. Listed below is the Bid Time Line that outlines pertinent dates of which the Proposers should make themselves aware: Tuesday, October 28, 2014 Invitation for Bid issued to public Monday, November 10, 2014 Pre-Bid Meeting/Site Tour at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 Bids due by 4:30p.m. ` These dates are subject to revision at First Missionary Baptist Church s discretion. 2

SUBMITTAL OF PROPOSALS 3.1 Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Tour - There will be a recommended Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Tour Monday, November 10, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. Owner will be available to answer general questions pertaining to the Bid and the specifications. Contractor is encouraged to offer other alternatives which will meet or exceed the minimum requirements outlined herein. 3.2 Bid Date - Bids due no later than Tuesday, November 25, 2014 by 4:30p.m. 3.3 Bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered Submission of a Bid shall constitute a firm offer to First Missionary Baptist Church for ninety (90) calendar days from the submission deadline for Bids Bidders are requested to submit one original and one copy of the Bids to FMBC. Bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope marked, Invitation for Bid Number , First Missionary Baptist Church CHURCH MARQUEE, and plainly endorsed with Proposer s name and address. Bids will be sent or delivered to the following address: First Missionary Baptist Church 3509 Blue Spring Rd NW Huntsville, AL Attention: Carolyn A. Landry, Church Administrator 4. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE 4.1.
