Your firm has expressed interest in providing these products. Below is an outline of some of the requirements that apply to this project. 7 SECTION 2 - PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS Introduction The computer hardware and software listed within this bid solicitation and specification is required by City of Norwalk s Information Technology Department to upgrade its existing server infrastructure. The City of Norwalk is inviting quotes from authorized resellers for computer hardware and software. Only submissions from authorized resellers will be considered for an award. All products to be purchased as a result of this bid solicitation shall be new, unused equipment. Refurbished or previously used products shall not be considered for an award. The City of Norwalk s Information Technology Department has selected specific equipment for this project, including the preferred manufacturer. The City has elected not to consider or accept substitutions of alternate equipment or products for this project. The deadline for submission of questions is 12:00 p.m., December 22, Current Environment and Plans The City of Norwalk s IT Department will be purchasing a minimum of three (3) servers between January-February These three (3) servers will be used as VMware 5.1 host servers. The Project Specification and Pricing Sheet list two (2) CPU options that will be considered for an order with the Dell R620 servers. The City plans to compare submissions received for the CPU options, and then select the CPU to be included with the servers. Various City of Norwalk departments are currently reviewing new applications, and therefore, the City may decide to purchase two (2) additional servers in late Spring Currently, the City of Norwalk has standardized on idrac (integrated Dell Remote Access Controller) to provide our interface for out-of-band server facilities and the City requires Dell servers to meet this project s requirements. No substitute manufactured servers will be considered for purchase. Interested firms are not required to make offers for all ten (10) Items listed within their submission package. Partial awards may be considered by the City of Norwalk. If the products listed in this bid solicitation are no longer available, please notify the Purchasing Department to allow for revisions to this bid solicitation s requirements and specifications.
