Articulated and rightangle corners in different widths facilitate any geometric considerations. A comprehensive range of extensions, closures and endformwork provides efficient, speedy solutions that augment the system s functionality. Multiple panels can be preassembled in modules and manoeuvred by crane, ensuring minimum positioning and repositioning times and cost savings. The PZ Handset formwork system can be utilised in almost every formwork task, and has been designed for manual handling, where the light weight of the panels helps speed up positioning and repositioning regardless of crane access. Additionally, the panels require minimum time and materials to maintain as they incorporate minimal disposable parts. The efficiency of PZ Handset panels in formwork processes offers considerable savings in labour costs and time when compared to traditional formwork systems. On largescale projects, multiple panels can be assembled into modules, which can then be quickly positioned and repositioned by crane; this saves considerable time and labour cost. Long lifespan: The rigid steel frames and the highquality plywood facings are designed to withstand the rigors of a construction site. And the robustness of the systems permits almost unlimited reuse while continuing to maintaining superb concrete surface finishes. Design simplicity: The inherent simplicity of the Handset system means that site staff will quickly understand the component assembly process this leads to fast turnaround times. Safety aspects: Simplicity of handling and assembly, plus the facility for attaching work platforms improve workplace safety. Flexibility: A wide range of panel configurations and accessories provides maximum versatility. PANEL SPECIFICATIONS Handset panels are available in a range of size combinations. Panels feature 5cm grid holes that permit maximum flexibility for corner, column and end formworks. Panel heights: 150, 120, 115 and 100cm each size panel is complemented by rightangle and universal panels, external angles, and extension connectors. Panel widths: 80, 70, 60, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15 and 10cm. SCALE They PROJECTS offer SYSTEM stable and reliable solutions while being quick to set and strike greatly enhancing the system s overall versatility and ergonomic design. Handset Panel Connectors Delta and Sigma panel connectors ensure tight vertical and horizontal panel connection. They are fitted and removed using a hammer. Gamma connectors provide rightangle external connections, using speed bolts. Triangular form with standard Handset and universal angle panels. Internal rightangle and universalangle connectors are available for all Handset panels. Ties for Handset Panels Spacers: Handset panel frames have holes for insertion of 3mm spacers, avoiding the need to drill panel shuttering surfaces. Watertight spacers are available. Endflange tie rods with wing nuts connect panels through the 5cm grid holes, providing great flexibility in column and wall forms. External rightangle connectors are available for all Handset panels. Tie rods: Tie rods inserted through the panel shuttering surface and anchored with wing nuts provide the necessary structural cohesion. Walling clips and tubes provide a quick and efficient method of delivering extra rigidity and excellent alignment in wall sections

7 PAVLOS ZENONOS AND SONS LTD PUSH & PULL PROPS FOR HANDSET PANELS Depending on column size, double or single push & pull props provide alignment. For forms up to 4.0m high, standard single or double push & pull props can be used. For higher forms, heavy duty push & pull props need to be employed. A range of connection tools provide the flexibility to combine Handset panels to create column forms. Depending on the dimensional requirements of each form and the panel sizes at hand, column forms can be assembled, cast and struck in singledaycycles, allowing the panels to be employed in further formwork processes Columns requiring more than a standard panel width require spacers to make up the dimension. For panel connection, any combination of existing connection tools can be used from site inventory. Connection Tools at Work Depending on column size, double or single push & pull props provide alignment. For forms up to 4.0m high standard single or double push & pull props can be used. For higher forms heavy duty push & pull props are employed. Panels are connected with 10cm long endflange tie rods and wing nuts. Resulting holes are plugged with plastic tabs, retaining the smooth shuttering surface in subsequent use. The 5cm grid in every panel allows great flexibility in forming various column dimensions with the same panels and minimum connection tools. The 80cm wide panel can form columns up to 70 x 70cm with the same quantity of endflange ties and wing nuts. External rightangle connectors are fixed to a panel frame via the 5cm grid holes and fastened with Ø 16mm speed bolts. Rightangle panel connectors with speed bolts provide an alternative method of Handset panel connection without the need to drill the panel shuttering surface. External angle connectors are affixed with either Sigma or Delta connectors. Columns formed with external rightangle corners require no drilling of the panel shuttering surface yielding high quality, blemishfree concrete forms. Panels are connected with a combination of right angle panel connectors with speed bolts and external angles with Sigma connectors

8 WORKING WITH HANDSET COLUMN FORMWORK FLEXIBILITY, UTILITY, ECONOMY The structural stability of PZ Handset and ease of assembly makes it an ideal system for column forms. In addition, the standard filmfaced birch ply shuttering surface of each panel provides for repeated, highquality concrete surfaces. System connection parts enhance flexibility by providing multiple means of combining panels for adhoc solutions. Even on sites where no crane is available, erection, shuttering and repositioning times are fast. Handset panels allow maximum flexibility to form columns quickly and efficiently. All Handset panels have holes in a 5cm grid to allow formation of multiple column dimensions using the same panels. The system has connection tools to aid multiple panel combinations. Handset panels can be quickly assembled to achieve required column height. Repeated use of the same form is possible by striking the form in four right angle sections and repositioning by crane. Repositioning preassembled column formwork by crane adds to the costeffectiveness of the system by minimizing labour and time requirements

Excellent concrete surface finish is achieved with fast shuttering times. Columns can be assembled and shuttered in a singledaycycle then struck and repositioned the next day, achieving high utility ratios. Concrete surface quality is consistently firstclass, even after repeated use, and the speed and ease of forming columns with Handset formwork minimises shuttering times. Handset formwork is ideal for use on sites with no crane access. This is particularly advantageous on smallscale residential construction projects

15 PAVLOS ZENONOS AND SONS LTD WORKING WITH HANDSET SINGLESIDED WALL FORMWORK THE RELIABLE AND FLEXIBLE SINGLESIDED WALL SUPPORT SYSTEM Handset is a practical and costefficient system that is ideal when used for singlesided wall construction. Handset components can be used in singlesided wall formwork in the same efficient way as in other applications. Connection to the support components is achieved using Lbolts and wing nuts. Modules can be quickly preassembled and moved by crane, considerably minimising shuttering times. In situations of great loads, the PZ heavyduty singlesided wall support system is a flexible support solution. It is assembled in modules to precise dimensional requirements. Inbuilt columns on a singlesided wall. Handset panels are connected using Lbolts set through the vertical beams of each support component and secured with wing nuts. The height can be easily adjusted according to dimensional requirements by regulating the size of the beams. Curved singlesided walls are easily created, as by using the same panel widths any wall can be formed. Multiangle panels can be used for applications with oblique angles. 16 WORKING WITH HANDSET SINGLESIDED WALL FORMWORK Handset panels yield consistently highquality concrete surfaces. A singlesided Handset wall module being repositioned on site. Two anchors are placed on either side of each support element. The endflange tie rods are embedded at a minimum depth of 25cm into the concrete floor. For maximum effect, tie rods are placed at 45⁰ through the base beam. Ties are partly retracted together with the entire anchor connection system for use in the next section. 17 PAVLOS ZENONOS AND SONS LTD WORKING WITH HANDSET DECK FORMWORK Using Handset panels for slab construction greatly reduces the time required for assembly whilst maintaining top quality concrete surfaces. Handset panels can be supported by HFrame, props, CupLock or RingLock support scaffold. The system also offers a range of extension connectors and a drophead for extremely fast, costefficient shuttering times. Handset drophead in the armed position. Handset drophead after being struck.
