Modular Power Infeed Voice / Data adapter kits Before Getting Started: Concrete floor surfaces must be flat, level and structurally sound. Floor topping/leveling may be required prior to installation of the Connectrac system. Aluminum Connectrac components which will be cut to length should be cut with a non-ferrous metal-cutting saw blade. This blade can be used with a miter saw or chop saw (recommended), radial arm saw, or table saw Recommended Tools and Materials: + Miter saw with non-ferrous blade 9 + Standard drill + Hammer drill + Hand bit driver with ¼ socket Tape measure + Pliers 10 + Hammer + Dry wall saw + Utility knife + Carpet laying tools 11 + Adhesive (Liquid Nails, Heavy Duty, recommended) and caulk gun + Chalk line + Builder s square 12 + Fish tape

3 NEW WALL INSTALLATION: STEP 1 step 2 4" 1-1/2" 4" One: (NEW WALL) Make two cuts in floor stud track, 4 apart, and fold inward. If using, position Rough-In Box accessory in track, drill floor slab, and fasten box with concrete screws. Two: (NEW WALL) Install gypsum board, cutting around optional Rough-In Box. If not using the optional Rough-In Box, simply cut a 1-1/2 x 4 hole along bottom of wall where stud track was cut. EXISTING WALL INSTALLATION: STEP 1 step 2 One: (EXISTING WALL) Peel wall base from wall where cables will be entering the stud wall cavity. Mark carpet along one side of the Connectrac bottom track with chalk line. Cut and peel carpet from floor slab. Two: (EXISTING WALL) Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 hole in gypsum board, then bend track inward and down. STEP 3 step 4 Three: Saw base track and side ramps to length. Four: Pre-drill 1/4 holes in aluminum base track at a minimum of 36 on- center and a maximum of 6 from the ends. Drill floor slab with concrete bit and install concrete screws to secure base track to slab. Do not install screws where receptacle device will be located. NOTE: finish installing screws by hand to avoid over-torquing.

4 STEP 5 Leave 1/8 gap at ends of ramps Five: Apply ¼ adhesive bead to underside of high and low MDF side transition ramps 1 from both edges of all ramp pieces and place on floor slab. Allow a 1/8 gap between every 48 side ramp section. Apply construction adhesive to underside of end transition ramps and place on floor slab. Apply sufficient and even pressure to all glued ramp components to ensure that adhesive is spread uniformly and ramp components are adequately seated. STEP 6 step 7 Six: Place receptacle devices into desired position in bottom track and connect with modular jumpers. Anchor receptacle devices through bottom track using included concrete screws. Seven: Pull flexible conduit through wall opening up cavity of stud wall and wire to junction box. Connect modular end to first receptacle device. STEP 8 step 9 DISTANCE BETWEEN DEVICES Eight: Secure device covers to devices with included screws. Nine: Measure distance between device cover and wall, deducting wall base thickness. Measure distance between devices. Saw aluminum cap to length needed to cover exposed cabling in bottom track. Snap top caps in bottom track.

5 STEP 10 Ten: Install carpet, trimming along edges of Connectrac wireway and devices. Adhere carpet to side and end transition ramps. If using carpet top cap, adhere carpet strip into cap. STEP 11 step 12 eleven: Install communications cables. Use included voice / data adapter kit to facilitate voice and data jack installation. NOTE: More voice / data capacity can be installed using a manufacturer-specific faceplate (not included), or with optional Connectrac Communications Adaper Plate accessories. Snap top cap into bottom track. (NOTE: To remove top cap, pry lightly along one edge every 12 with tack remover tool; repeat down length of cap until cap pops out). STEP 12 step 13 STEP 13 twelve: Tape supplied template to back side of wall base and mark along bottom edge. Trim along line to match bottom of wall base to wireway profile. STANDARD ALTERNATE thirteen: Alternate end condition - trim side ramps to allow end transition ramps to sit at end of wireway as indicated. This allows cabling to exit the end of wireway.
