2 TRAINING OBJECTIVES Due to rapid technological development in living pattern of people and introduction of new materials and techniques, trained workforce in Plumber Trade is not able to cope with present needs. New curriculum of Plumber / pipe fitter is developed by considering these facts, so that passouts of this course would have sufficient technical knowhow and reasonable employment opportunities. CURRICULUM SALIENTS Entrylevel Duration of course Training Hours Illiterate / preferably primary pass. 03 Month 400 Hours 40 Hours per Week 6 Days per week 7 Hours per day (Friday 5 hrs.) Training Methodology Practical 90% Theory 0% Medium of instruction Urdu / Local Language
3 SKILL COMPETENCY DETAILS: On successful completion of this course, the trainee should be able to:. File, mark, measure, drill & cut the metal pieces.. Cut threads on Steel pipe pieces. 3. Perform pipe joining. 4. Join and lay the waste water pipes. 5. Install the water and gas appliances. 6. Detection of faults in installations and their remedy. 7. Lay down new connection from main water supplies and install gas meters.
4 3 KNOWLEDGE PROFICIENCY DETAILS: On successful completion of the course, the trainee should be able to:. Explain techniques of measuring, marking, filing, sawing, cutting of pipes. Explain identification of tools / instruments, their uses & safety measures. 3. Explain identification and selection of appropriate piping material for a particular job. 4. Explain knowledge of threading cutting of pipes by different dies. 5. Express knowledge of tools / equipments used in pipe fitting. 6. Express knowledge of different pipes. 7. Describe types & function of valves taps & cocks. 8. Describe different types of sanitary wares & installations. 9. Describe various types of domestic water pumps. 0. Describe knowledge of Sui Gas pipeline installations & home appliances.
