López TITLE: Learning Appearance in Virtual Scenarios for Pedestrian Detection TYPE OF PRESENTATION: Poster CONGRESS: IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) MEETING PLACE: San Francisco (CA, USA) YEAR: 2010 MOST NOTABLE ASPECTS: In this paper, we learn an appearance-based pedestrian detector in a virtual world that successfully works in a real scenario. While Javier s main contribution is the design of the virtual scenario, mine is the design and implementation of a framework for training and testing different pedestrian detectors. López TITLE: Opponent Color Space for Human Detection TYPE OF PRESENTATION: Poster CONGRESS: Iberian Conference on Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis (IbPRIA) MEETING PLACE: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) YEAR: 2011 MOST NOTABLE ASPECTS: In this paper, we evaluate the opponent color space as a biologically inspired alternative for human detection. While Rao s main contribution is the experimental part, mine is the design and implementation of the framework that allows evaluating the influence of different color spaces over the pedestrian detectors. López TITLE: Color Contribution to Part-Based Person Detection in Different Types of Scenarios TYPE OF PRESENTATION: Poster CONGRESS: 14th International Conference on Computer Analysis of Images and Patterns (CAIP 2011) MEETING PLACE: Seville (Spain) YEAR: 2011 MOST NOTABLE ASPECTS: In this paper, we focus on how the opponent (Opp) color space improves the performance of the Felzenswalb part-based human detector. Our experiments suggest that the benefits of Opp come from those scenarios for which the human vision system was designed for like indoor or countryside scenarios. While Rao s main contributions is the experimental design and the database annotation mine is the integration of the opponent color space in the part-based human detector.
