AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.72 OF THE LA MESA MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD TWO ADDITIONAL MEMBERS TO THE COMMISSION ON AGING TO REPRESENT VETERANS AND CHANGE THE NAME OF THE COMMISSION TO THE AGING AND VETERANS COMMISSION STAFF REPORTS Staff recommends the Council approve the second reading and adoption of the ordinance. CONSIDERATION OF CITY COUNCIL POLICY RELATED TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING FOR PUBLIC SERVICES Staff recommends the Council reaffirm the policy established in the Consolidated Plan which states that it is in the City s best interest to suspend funding of the public service program should funding levels fall below $450,000. CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF A SEWER EASEMENT ON SHELDON DRIVE Staff recommends the Council adopt a resolution authorizing purchase of a sewer easement on Sheldon Drive. CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING A RESOLUTION ELECTING THE CITY OF LA MESA TO SERVE AS THE SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE LA MESA COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION AND RETAIN THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PERFORMING HOUSING FUNCTIONS PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION Staff recommends the Council adopt a resolution selecting the City of La Mesa as Successor Agency to the La Mesa Redevelopment Agency and that the City retain responsibility for housing functions.
