The Province is coming forward to Delta Council with a consultation overview presentation, provided as Attachment A. According to the Province, the initial round of consultations will identify new criteria and goals for a South Fraser crossing that better aligns with regional plans. The information gathered during the consultations will inform further engineering assessments on the replacement options, with a new business case to be developed by fall As part of the December 2018 announcement, the Province also indicated that they would be developing a scope of work for improvements to the Steveston Interchange and Delta area adjacent to the tunnel. Work will include better lighting and drainage, resurfacing the tunnel approaches and upgrading safety systems. The Province indicated that the interim upgrades to the existing tunnel and road system will cost approximately $40 million and begin in summer Steven Lan, P.Eng., Director of Engineering Attachment: A.
