The piping is insulated with ACM and the piping material is assumed to be welded black iron. The entrance is low pressure <15 PSI, and is original to the building. The steam piping feeds unit heaters, perimeter radiators, air handling units, and the steam to domestic hot water heat exchanger. The condensate return piping appears to be a gravity system as no condensate pumps could be located during the site visit. The piping is original to the building. There is an antiquated condensate return meter located near the condensate return main that discharges back to the campus system. Poor Remaining Useful Life Exceeded Nominal Useful Life: 30 Years Serial Number Size/Capacity Voltage Replacement Cost $73, Replace all steam piping and condensate return throughout facility. Steam supply and condensate return piping run throughout the 48k square foot facility. The steam system and condensate return are antiquated, rusted, and has numerous issues noted by building staff. Steam hammer has been noted throughout the building. Incorrect pitch of condensate return, bent pipes, etc. are all contributors to the pipe hammer PAGE 4

The AHUs vary in age and distribution. AHU AS-1 is located in the attic space of the 3rd floor. The unit provides make-up air for the lab exhausts located throughout the building. The AHU is steam heating only, and was installed in AHU AS-2 is located in the attic space of the 3rd floor. The unit provides ventilation air for the 2nd floor of the building. There were no heating or cooling coils connected on the unit; however, the unit was running at time of visit. It appears that there is an existing steam coil within the unit, but the piping has been disconnected from the system. The ductwork is exposed, and routed in the building light well to the spaces below. The ductwork is original, and appears to be in poor condition. AS-2 appears in fair visible condition, but no information could be found regarding the age, or equipment information. AHU AS-3 serves the large open architectural studio on the 1st floor. The unit is a ceiling hung unit and is steam heating only. The unit was installed in the 1980s per staff. The ductwork is exposed, lined ductwork serving only the architectural studio. Individual window mounted air conditioning units provide cooling for many of the spaces throughout the building. Poor Remaining Useful Life Exceeded Nominal Useful Life: 30 Years Serial Number Size/Capacity Voltage Replacement Cost $159, Replace all existing exposed ductwork from AS-2 throughout 2nd floor. There is an abandoned unit in the 3rd floor annex near AS PAGE 6
