As a mechanical design engineer, he was involved and he has participated actively in all phases of projects, from the design, manufacturing and installation of the turbine and generator units, to the development of technical specifications, site supervision and follow-up for major projects. As a consulting engineer he held different position such as project engineer, technical manager and project manager. He performed several feasibility studies and rehabilitation projects of turbine and generator. He did hydraulic and mechanical sizing of units and hydro development for both the mini hydro of few megawatts to large hydro of hundreds of megawatts, he prepared drawings and specifications and did the manufacturing and installation follow up. As project director he did the management, administration and control of short-term project of a few thousand dollars to long-term project of several years and hundreds of thousands of dollars. Recently at Hatch Mr. Auger was the Regional Manager Hydroelectricity and Dams for Montreal Office and discipline practice lead for the Turbine and Generator Engineering services. Quality control, distribution of work, project management, business development, training, technical assistance, etc. were some of their daily tasks. Today Mr. Auger is the founder, the president and the principal engineer at GTA HYDRO inc. an engineering firm specialized in services and consulting for hydraulic turbine and generator.
