7 Kuujjuaq Airport, Northern Village, Nunavik, Northern Quebec The Kuujjuaq Airport is the community s only reliable year round means of transportation. The terminal has been 7 designed for LEED Silver.
8 Bedford Institute of Oceanography Harbour water cooling New Level II Biocontainment standards laboratory for ocean sciences research at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; Fisheries and Oceans Canada 8
9 RCMP Detachment, Keremeos BC Uses a ground source heat pump to significantly reduce the heating and cooling requirement and solar hot water system. 9
10 Rehabilitation of an Old Industrial Building With Geothermal Heat Pumps, Montreal (CADDET) The heat pumps with a geothermal system was cheaper and had greater potential for savings. The total investment of $375,000 for the system was $175,000 less than a conventional system with fan coil units, and $43,000 less than the water loop system. Taking the overall installation (HVAC system, centralised control, plumbing, electrical installation), a conventional system would have cost $607,000 compared to $395,000 for the geothermal system. 10
