15 5. Results: findings of the survey There are plans to install interconnecting pipe lines between the chilled water headers of Plant 1 (Phase 1 and Phase 2) and Plant 2 (Phase 3). The operation of chillers to minimize the cost of energy will become very complicated and difficult for operators, who will need to make decisions when demand changes and when sudden equipment trouble occurs. 18 6. Summary of Key Points 1. Estimated ROI for introduction of U-OPT is 3.8 years. 2. Before U-OPT introduction, it is very important to improve the measuring and monitoring system so that the operation status of the plant can be grasped, and to maintain the capabilities of the equipment as designed. 3. The government is proposed to financially support users who introduce an energy measuring and monitoring system, which is the base for any energy conservation solution, although such a system by itself does not yield tangible cost savings.
