1 Appendix V South Florida Water Management District Peace River Service Area
2 From: Thomson, Jennifer Sent: Thursday, February 19, :49 PM To: 'Lee Cook' Subject: RE: Service area for Tippen Bay Wetland Mitigation Bank Lee, I apologize for not responding to your sooner. I spoke with John Emery and we agreed that wetland impacts located in the SFWMD portion of the Peace River watershed may be mitigated at the proposed Tippen Bay Wetland Mitigation Bank. The proposed wetland mitigation plan would still need to meet all of the other criteria including appropriateness, type, amount, etc. Please feel free to give me a call if this does not answer your question or if you would like to discuss further. Thank you, Jennifer Thomson Supervisor Natural Resource Management South Florida Water Management District Orlando Service Center 1707 Orlando Central Parkway, Suite 200 Orlando FL # ext jthomson@sfwmd.gov From: Lee Cook [mailto:lee@questecology.com] Sent: Thursday, February 19, :27 AM To: Thomson, Jennifer Subject: FW: Service area for Tippen Bay Wetland Mitigation Bank Hi Ms. Thomson, Please see below. I have not heard from your office. I will call to discuss. Thank you. J. Lee Cook, MS, PWS Quest Ecology, Inc.
3 Senior Ecologist (cell) From: Lee Cook Sent: Monday, December 29, :49 PM To: Subject: Service area for Tippen Bay Wetland Mitigation Bank Hi Ms. Thomson, We are in the process of permitting a wetland mitigation bank (Tippen Bay Wetland Mitigation Bank) in southeastern Desoto County within the Peace River watershed. As you know, portions of the watershed extend into the SFWMD service area. Please see the attached Figure. The following request is from SWFWMD APPLICATION NUMBER: , RAI letter dated August 05, It appears that the proposed mitigation bank service area extends outside the Southwest Florida Water Management District s boundaries. Please identify and provide the service area watersheds proposed in the South Florida Water Management District and provide documentation that South Florida Water Management District recognizes these basin extensions. [Rule , F.A.C.] Please confirm that credits for wetland impacts occurring in the Peace River Watershed inside the SFWMD service area could potentially be purchased from the Tippen Bay Wetland Mitigation Bank (TBWMB) upon receipt of state and federal permits. Please call me if you need any additional information. Sincerely, Lee Cook J. Lee Cook, MS, PWS Quest Ecology, Inc. Senior Ecologist (cell)
