1 Adopted Projects at Priority List Meeting August 9, 2017 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Recipient Amount Project Big Bend Water $30,000 Planning for a water distribution system replacement project. $15,000 of Authority* this planning loan does not have to be repaid. (DW15052) Bonifay* $50,000 Planning for the replacement of approximately 11 miles of water lines and the installation of approximately 2,000 feet of new water lines. $25,000 of this planning loan does not have to be repaid. (DW30014) Bowling Green* $2,160,871 Construction of water treatment process improvements, including nanofiltration, to reduce sulfate and total dissolved solids levels to below secondary standards. $1,778,298 of this construction loan does not have to be repaid. (DW25025) Cape Coral $20,000,000 Continuation of the installation of approximately 92 miles of water mains and approximately 96 miles of reclaimed water distribution system to the residents in the northern part of the city as well as construction of two pump stations. This is a segmented project where the remaining funding amount of $62,730,970 was placed on the waiting portion of the priority list for future fiscal years funding. (DW36013) Charlotte County $4,060,062 Installation of approximately 3.5 miles of water transmission main connecting Walenda Booster Station to the Rotonda Booster Station and to an existing main at the intersection of SR771 and Ingraham Blvd and to the 5-million-gallon ground storage tank in Rotonda Circle. (DW0802B) Dade City* $230,000 Design of a new ground storage tank and pump station. $115,000 of this planning loan does not have to be repaid. (DW51041) Davenport* $400,000 Planning for the replacement of approximately 17 miles of old water mains within an area bordered by West Boulevard, East Boulevard, South Boulevard, and North Boulevard. $200,000 of this planning loan does not have to be repaid. (DW53070) Destin Water Users, Inc. $2,319,000 Construction of new water storage tanks in the western and northeastern portions of the utility s service area as well as replacement of one of their older supply wells. The upgraded storage capacity of 1.25 million gallons will help the utility meet its finished water storage needs. (DW46012) Dunedin^ $1,115,000 Planning for the refurbishment of the city s water treatment plant, including conducting a treatment pilot study. (DW52026) Jackson County* $1,593,235 Construction of nearly 4 miles of water mains and water service lines to connect about 125 homes in the Indian Springs Subdivision currently served by private wells to the county s potable water system in conjunction with state grants to do the same for expanding the wastewater system. $881,288 of this construction loan does not have to be repaid. (DW32035) Jennings* $201,125 Rehabilitation of the existing elevated storage tank to correct public health and safety issues identified by DEP Northeast District permitting office. $181,125 of this construction loan does not have to be repaid. (DW24020)
2 Lake Worth^ $3,359,000 Installation of over 2 miles of water service lines with meters, valves, and hydrants. $671,820 of this construction loan does not have to be repaid. (DW50172) Lemon Bluff Water Association* $200,000 Construction of upgrades of the water treatment plant facilities, including the filters, building, electrical system, roof, patio, generator and drainage control. $145,500 of this construction loan does not have to be repaid. (DW64020) North Miami^ $4,410,680 Construction of water treatment upgrades and the Norman H. Winson Water Treatment Plant, including upgrade of the existing lime softening plant, ten (10) new Floridan aquifer wells, new reverse osmosis treatment facility, a deep injection well, a 5-million-gallon water storage tank, and a new booster pump station. $818,574 of this construction loan does not have to be repaid. (DW13183) Polk Regional Water Cooperative^ $11,500,000 Planning for the future water supply of Polk County through the Polk Regional Water Cooperative, which includes many communities and cities in Polk County, including Auburndale, Bartow, Winter Haven, Mulberry, Lakeland, Haines City and more. Planning activities include deep well lower Floridan wellfield development, water treatment plant preliminary design for brackish water treatment and pipelines to convey water, and strategic planning of surface water storage areas and aquifer recharge sites. The South Florida Water Management District is providing another $11.5 million of funding for the project. (DW53200) Sanford^ $584,950 Planning and design of the future expansion capability for the inclusion of ozone and granulated activated carbon treatment. The city-wide monitoring system is to be upgraded as well to incorporate a cross communication and control link between the two water treatment plants. (DW59019) Springfield* $150,000 Planning for a water distribution system replacement project to fix old and leaking water pipes and meters. $75,000 of this planning loan does not have to be repaid. (DW03051) *serving a small and disadvantage community ^ serving a disadvantaged community only Clean Water State Revolving Fund Recipient Amount Project Apopka $20,000,000 Continuation of the construction of facility upgrades that will expand the Apopka Water Reclamation Facility to a flow rate of 8.0 million gallons per day. These additional treatment facilities are needed to satisfy a DEP consent order. This is a segmented project where, with this increase, the total obligated funding is $45,000,000 and another $22,500,000 was placed on the waiting portion of the priority list for future fiscal years funding. Last year the city also received a separate $1,429,000 loan for the planning and design of this project. (WW48021)
3 Bowling Green* $5,768,861 Construction of major modifications and improvements to the wastewater treatment facility as well as installation of nearly 3 miles of new effluent lines. An accompanying Small Community Wastewater Grant will cover $3,750,000 of this loan. (WW25023) Bradenton (Design) $45,500 Design of multiple wastewater treatment improvements, including upgrading the wastewater treatment dewatering facilities, improving the treatment headworks, upgrading the oxidation ditches, replacement of force mains along SR 64 Causeway, improvements to the lift station located adjacent to Lake Hospital, and replacement of the lift station adjacent to Manatee Memorial Hospital. Last year the city also received a separate $400,000 loan for the planning of this project. (WW41036) Bradenton (Construction) $4,495,800 Construction of multiple wastewater treatment improvements, including upgrading the wastewater treatment dewatering facilities, improving the treatment headworks, upgrading the oxidation ditches, replacement of force mains along SR 64 Causeway, improvements to the lift station located adjacent to Lake Hospital, and replacement of the lift station adjacent to Manatee Memorial Hospital. (WW41036) Branford* $57,098 Construction of a new 300,000-gallon effluent storage tank and a couple new pump stations. (WW61011) Cape Coral $20,000,000 Continue the expansion of the city s existing wastewater collection system to approximately 3,000 homes in the northern part of the city currently served by septic systems, including the construction of over 84 miles of gravity sewer, 20 miles of force main, 20 neighborhood lift stations and two master pump stations. This is a segmented project where, with this increase, the total obligated funding is now $45,000,000 with another $96,516,995 placed on the waiting portion of the priority list for future fiscal years funding. (WW36012) Clay County Utility Authority $14,179,180 Construction of Phase I of the new wastewater processes at the existing 0.65 million-gallons-per-day Mid-Clay wastewater treatment facility which will upgrade the capacity to 3.0-million-gallons per day. (WW10020) Clewiston $535,000 Planning for the repair and replacement of the town s collection system through conducting a sanitary sewer evaluation study to determine the cause and location of the systems excessive inflow and infiltration. (WW26042) Daytona Beach (Palmetto Avenue Force Main) Daytona Beach (Westside Regional Improvements) $2,256,160 Construction of new force main along Palmetto Avenue to alleviate the burden on the existing gravity main and eliminating the possibility of sanitary sewer overflows during severe storm events. The new force main will take a portion of the flow to the Bethune Point wastewater facility. (WW64097) $10,173,429 Replacement and rehabilitation of filtration system at the Westside Regional treatment plant to help meet the regulatory requirements for public access reclaimed water. This is an ongoing project where, with this increase, the total obligated funding is now $31,119,995. (WW64093)
4 El Portal* (Wastewater Design) $435,000 Design of a central collection system for the Village of El Portal located in Miami-Dade County connecting approximately 800 homes currently served byseptic systems. The centralized collection system would flow to and be treated by Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Authority. An accompanying Small Community Wastewater Grant will cover $348,000 of this loan. (WW1320C) El Portal* (Stormwater Planning) Florida Governmental Utility Authority of Chuluota* $175,000 Development of a master stormwater plan for the Village of El Portal located in Miami-Dade County to address water quality issues in West Little River, which flows into Biscayne Bay, as well as flooding issues. (SW1320L) $1,420,664 Construction of a new 0.5-million-gallon reclaimed water storage tank and pumping system, which will effectively reduce the amount of reclaimed water land applied on the city s sprayfield and maximize the reclaimed water sent to the City of Oviedo s Public Access Reuse System for residential irrigation. (WW59032) Fort Myers Beach* $5,520,000 Installation and rehabilitation of the stormwater management system, including constructing over 26 miles of drainage systems and other facilities. This project will improve the water quality to Estero Bay by providing treatment ponds to capture and treat stormwater prior to discharging to the bay. (SW36083) Gateway Services Community Development District $1,012,951 Remediation of lake banks throughout the Gateway Services Community Development District located in Fort Myers by installing turf mats and shoreline vegetation where severe erosion is a problem. Last year the city also received a separate $255,000 loan for the design of this project. (SW36040) Lake Wales $1,680,443 Replacement of the existing gravity sewer system for the Lift Station No. 16 service area. (WW53038) Longwood $2,622,050 Expansion of the city's wastewater collection system in the South Longwood, Lake Ruth and Springwood areas, eliminating approximately 120 septic tanks which will help alleviate pollutants in the upper St. Johns River watershed. (WW59051) Mulberry* $3,769,927 Rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer system to correct inflow and infiltration issues. An accompanying Small Community Wastewater Grant will cover $3,015,942 of this loan. (WW77006) Orlando $12,884,307 Repair, rehabilitation and replacement of the components of the Iron Bridge Water Reclamation Facility s sludge handling system. (WW48044) Parker* $1,255,033 Rehabilitation the city's aging wastewater collection and transmission system, including the replacement of about 2 miles of force main and the rehabilitation of two pump stations and several manholes. An accompanying Small Community Wastewater Grant will cover $878,523 of this loan. (WW03071) Polk City* $160,000 Design of effluent transmission facilities and new rapid infiltration basins. An accompanying Small Community Wastewater Grant will cover $128,000 of this loan. (WW53140)
5 Sarasota $2,840,000 Construction of a new lift station and the decommissioning of two aging lift stations as well as the replacement of gravity sewer and reclaimed water mains at the intersection of Osprey Avenue and Lincoln Drive. This is a segmented project where, with this increase, the total obligated funding is now $27,840,000. (WW58023) St. Johns County $20,000,000 Construction of a new Players Club Water Reclamation Facility, a 2.4- million-gallon-per-day advanced wastewater treatment plant. The new facility will handle the flows that are currently treated at the Players Club, Sawgrass and Inlet Beach wastewater treatment plants, which are all are nearing the end of their useful lives and are suffering from increasing maintenance and reliability issues. This is a segmented project where the remaining funding amount of $12,614,400 was placed on the waiting portion of the priority list for future fiscal years funding. (WW55012) St. Petersburg $4,049,316 Continuation of the upgrades to the biosolids treatment facilities, which will produce a fertilizer grade product, at the Southwest Wastewater Reclamation Facility. The new process will also ultimately produce a cleaned methane gas to be used to fuel the city's sanitation vehicles with all remaining gas to be used to generate electricity. This is a segmented project where, with this increase, the total obligated funding is now $53,335,565 with another $22,500,000 placed on the waiting portion of the priority list for future fiscal years funding. (WW52063) Tavares $999,245 Conversion of an existing wetland area into a stormwater treatment system for the downtown area, including construction of 2,300 feet of stormwater piping along Ruby Street and two large control structures for discharge into Lake Dora. This is an ongoing project where, with this increase, the total obligated funding is now $4,051,645. (SW35094) Umatilla* $70,000 Planning for the replacement of wastewater treatment facilities. An accompanying Small Community Wastewater Grant will cover $35,000 of this loan. (WW35075) Walton/Okaloosa/Santa Rosa Regional Utility Authority $1,398,400 Replacement of the existing sand filters with disk filters, increasing the reclaimed water capacity to be equivalent to the permitted capacity of the treatment plant. (WW17043) Wauchula* $78,000 Planning for necessary stormwater improvements to the drainage channel beginning at 1st Avenue and extending approximately 600 feet to the east of Griffin Road behind the city's Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project is being constructed to alleviate nuisance flooding in the project area and improve water quality entering Peace River. (SW25013) *Small community 10,000
