7 WARM-P - Goal and Objectives Goal: Improved living condition of people, especially disadvantaged, through sustained water resources management, improved access to and use of drinking water, sanitation and hygiene practices Objectives: 1. Increased Access to Use of Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Services: Rural people, especially disadvantaged, make use of the improved access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene practices 2. Strengthened Capacity at Local Level: Key actors at local level plan and implement sustainable use of water resources and maintain WASH services. 3. Advocacy and Policy Development: WASH agencies adapt relevant policies and implementation approaches based on the learning of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation

20 Partnership and Stakeholders - Government Department of Water Supply and Sewage: provides umbrella for implementation of WARM-P and its regional offices provide coordination and monitoring support District Development Committees: incorporate WARM-P activities into their annual plan and provide guidance for effective implementation and monitoring of the plan Village Development Committees: has an active role for development and implementation of WUMP and share the cost
21 Partnership and Stakeholders Non Government VDC level Water, Sanitation and Coordination Committees (V- WASH-CC): lead the WUMP process Water User and Sanitation Committees (WUSCs): implement the drinking water and sanitation schemes; Social and technical support is provided by local NGOs and engineering team respectively.
22 Achievements Up To Date (2001 to 2013) ~ 135,000 people (more than half women) benefitted from improved water supply and sanitation ~ 350 schemes constructed ~ 100 village development committees prepared their WUMPs ~ 5,000 local service providers (local latrine builders, village maintenance worker, care takers etc.) were trained
