1 Grey Water Treatment Plant Greywater is water that has been used for washing dishes, laundering clothes, or bathing. Essentially, any water, other than toilet wastes, draining from a household is greywater. Although this used water may contain grease, food particles, hair, and any number of other impurities, it may still be suitable for reuse. Reusing Greywater serves two purposes: it reduces the amount of freshwater needed to supply a household, and reduces the amount of waste water entering sewer or septic systems. Uses of Treated Greywater Subsurface applications Irrigation Surface applications Irrigation Toilet flushing Water features Cooling water Concrete water Fire sprinklers But nearly any non-contact use is a possibility. Grey water characteristics versus Black Water:- Lower in BOD concentration, 140 to 160 mg/l. Lower in suspended solids, mg/l. Lower in nitrogen concentration, 5 10 mg/l. Lower in phosphorus concentration, 0.4 to 2mg/L. More Alkaline. Higher in salt content.
2 Green Building Sustainable Solution Chemtronics ADAO Technology for Grey Water Treatment Plant Principle of ADAO Technology ADAO (Anaerobic Digestion with Advance Oxidation) is a Grey water treatment. Anaerobic digestion is particularly suited to organic material and is commonly used for effluent and grey treatment. Anaerobic waste water treatment is the biological treatment without the use of air or elemental oxygen. Many groups of anaerobic bacteria work together in the absence of oxygen to degrade complex organic pollutants into methane/biogas and carbon dioxide. In anaerobic digestion the microorganism responsible for the conversion of the organic matter or other constitutes in the waste water to gases and cell tissues are maintained in suspension within the liquid. Anaerobic digestion is a simple process that can greatly reduce the amount of organic matter without using any other resource & any form of energy. Advance Oxidation is an oxidation process useful for reducing TSS, Colour, Odour, COD & BOD of the grey. Process Description of ADAO Greywater Treatment Plant The grey water is collected into AD Tank through bar screen by gravity. Bar screen is provided to trap big objects like floating leaf, flowers, cottons, plastic, half eaten food, papers etc. From Bar Screen grey water passes to anaerobic digester, where biological oxidation degrades complex organic pollutant into methane and carbon dioxide. After AD tank series of filters provided for pre treatment to advance oxidation process using high purity and concentrated chemically oxidises the waste water and reducing odour, colour, COD and BOD. final polishing filter gives clarity to water and further reduces TSS & BOD. The sludge formation in this system is minimised and require to be removed after 1-2 years.
3 Core Treatment Solution in ADAO Gray Water Treatment Plant An ADAO solution uses combination of technologies to treat grey water efficiently and economically to achieve the required effluent quality. The ADAO technology has following modules cascaded to achieve complete system : 1. Primary Treatment 2. Settler & Anaerobic Digester 3. Pre treatment for Oxidation 4. Advance Oxidation 5. Final Polishing Benefits of ADAO Graywater Treatment Plant ADAO used in grey water treatment for: - Overall Organic & Inorganic content reduction (BOD & COD). - Sludge Treatment. - Colour and Odour Reduction. Less Sludge Production. Low Space Requirement. Dose not requires continuous operation. Less Operating Cost. User Friendly, simple to handle having very low running cost. Works well with inconsistent grey. MLSS and SVI monitoring not required. Environmentally Safe to treated grey water dispose in Land or Water. Can be reused for gardening, flushing, irrigation, construction and many more potable uses. Can b retrofitted to existing septic tank. Can be retrofitted to existing STP. By products of the system produces Biogas from which energy is generated. For larger plants biogas plant can be integrated to produce electricity/energy.
