3 Political Situation The government announced the action plan of the measures for Spent Nuclear Fuel. Establishing a council between the government and electric power companies Requesting electric power companies to draw up a plan to deal with spent nuclear fuel measures Strengthening regional measures for spent nuclear fuel (i.e Grant system) Enhancing public understanding on measures for spent nuclear fuel Electric power companies will draw up a plan to deal with spent nuclear fuel measures in response to a request by the Government. The first council was held on Nov. 20, The electric power companies announced the measures for spent nuclear fuel. The Japanese government released Action Plan on Measures for the spent nuclear fuel. The Japanese Electric Power Companies will draw up a plan to deal with spent nuclear fuel measures.
