18 Water Quality Improvement Grants DEP Growing Greener. RFP opened May 14 th. Proposals due July 13. Priority Montgomery County watersheds in the Southeast region include Swamp Creek and Tookany/Tacony-Frankford. Priority projects are those which construct or enhance effective stormwater control measures in priority watersheds where land use itself is not changing. Riparian corridor restoration/stabilization projects with an emphasis on the improvement of water quality and aquatic habitat. Projects which leverage support through one of the region s watershed partnership networks. TreeVitalize Watersheds RFP expected to open around September Tree planting along stream corridors, adjacent uplands, headwaters and stormwater facilities. Schuylkill River Restoration Fund - RFP for 2018 cycle is closed, next cycle expected to open January page (max) Grants awarded in the range of $20,000-$100,000 for water quality improvement projects. MontCo 2040 Implementation grants 2018 focus category, Adaptation and Resiliency, has been created to address negative environmental changes through projects such as floodplain mitigation, streambank restoration, green streets, and community gardens National Fish and Wildlife Foundation - Delaware River Restoration Fund RFP expected January Targeted Implementation grants for construction projects related to restoration and green stormwater infrastructure. Targets specific watersheds which includes Sandy Run portion of the Wissahickon, Jenkintown Creek portion of the Tookany, Naylor s Run portion of Cobbs, and a tributary of the Pennypack in Upper Moreland Township. Habitat Restoration and Cornerstone grant category projects can be outside of targeted watersheds. Additional information can be found at National Fish and Wildlife Foundation 5 Star Restoration grants On-the-ground wetland, riparian restoration. Meaningful education and training and integration with k- 12 environmental curriculum. Next RFP cycle expected to be announced November DCED Watershed Restoration and Protection Program - Applications accepted until May 31 st. Funding to implement watershed based BMPS for agriculture, stormwater streambank and channel restoration, as well as retrofits, repair, upgrade or O&M of existing features. Max grant request $300,000 DCED Flood Mitigation Program Applications accepted until May 31 st. Funding for projects identified by a local government for flood mitigation are eligible for the program. Max grant request - $500, DCNR - Riparian Forest Buffer Program Funding. Minimum grant request is $50,000. RFP cycle expected to open February Funding available for design, establish, monitor, and provide short-term maintenance for those buffers.
