1 SESSION 5 Flagstaff Water Management Erin Young City of Flagstaff Erin is being contracted by the City of Flagstaff to fill the Water Resources Manager position. Erin has managed numerous projects while with the City that include groundwater flow modeling, scoping and soliciting feasibility work at the City s Red Gap Ranch, and the City s Adequacy projects. Erin continues the efforts of the City s involvement with working groups such as the Coconino Plateau WAC TAC, the Walnut Canyon Lake Mary Watershed TAC, and NAMWUA. 12 Drought Preparedness Strategy I: when water demand is equal to or less than safe production capability (90% of total water resources available) Strategy II: In effect when water demand exceeds safe production capacity for five (5) consecutive days Strategy III: In effect when water demand exceeds total production capability, and the amount of water in storage may impair fire protection for the City AZ Water Association Water Treatment Committee Seminar Series 11

14 Drought Preparedness Strategy II: In effect when water demand exceeds safe production capacity for five (5) consecutive days Prohibits residential car washing, washing buildings and paved areas, filling fountains, ponds and pools with potable water Drought rate structure Single Family residential: 6,401 to 11,700 gallons billed at 150%, >11,700 gallons at 200% Multi-family, commercial, industrial, and institutional: Billed at 130% Standpipes: Billed at 130%, use limited to 25 miles radius AZ Water Association Water Treatment Committee Seminar Series 13
