4 Introduction MOE Approval and Construction Date Ministry of Environment (MOE) Certificate of Approval Waste Disposal Site (WDS) permit and Air (AIR) permit submitted in late 2010; Public and EBR consultation in late 2010; Comments from the public and the MOE received; MOE is reviewing the applications. Construction Date Scheduled for construction in late 2011; Construction completed and system commissioned in Page 4

12 Description of Leachate Treatment Facility Process Leachate produced by the landfill is pumped from the landfill mound to the treatment system The treatment system then pre-treats the leachate to the City of Ottawa Sewer Use By Law requirements The pre-treated leachate is then discharged to the Ottawa Sanitary sewage system Page 12

20 Description of Leachate Treatment Facility Servicing Stormwater drains into pond located to the east; Stormwater collected at the site will be drained to the storm sewer outfall; Storm sewer outfall will discharge outside of the berm to the existing stormwater pond. Stormwater collected in the pond will not be released. Page 20
21 Description of Leachate Treatment Facility Transportation Findings Site access is from Carp Road, just north of Highway 417; The proposed leachate treatment facility will generate negligible traffic: 1 sludge truck every two weeks; 1 chemical delivery truck every six months; 1 pickup truck transporting operators once per day. There will be no increase in the overall truck traffic. Page 21
