1 Overview of Capital Projects Division Introduction, Purpose, and Plans Presented by: John Haig, Michael Savannah, Keith Reynolds Board of Directors Meeting August 1, 2018

2 Why A Capital Projects Division? Over $300M+ in infrastructure needs in next 20 years Limited resources for improvements require efficient, responsive & responsible management Appropriate system to support successful project delivery Pre-2018, No Delivery System, Ad-hoc Approach Projects are done but not managed Completed Projects don t always meet District needs The new system will address outstanding issues Transition to project management focus New positions created to support structure

3 The Value Proposition Capital Projects Division creation drives value for the District because the project system Increases effective project execution and delivery Allows for focus on scope and purpose as the key elements of a project Increases collaboration by defining roles and responsibilities Facilitates increased customer participation and satisfaction Increases customer satisfaction by requiring increased communication and buy-in to approach
