We represent and support our member hospices and work with them and other organisations to develop and improve hospice and palliative care throughout the UK and across the world. Job description Purpose of role The role will manage the Individual Giving and Legacy executive and Payroll Giving xecutive and be responsible for teams overall delivery of our individual giving work. It will lead the development and management of Hospice UK s individual giving programmes and activities, including cash appeals, general donations, online donations, payroll giving, regular giving, merchandise, mid-level gifts, in memoriam giving and legacies, and to increase income from these sources. It will explore and test new income streams from individuals and to increase supporter engagement. Page 1 of 5

2 Key tasks and responsibilities Work with the Director of Income Generation to develop the new strategy for increasing income across all individual giving streams and then implement it. Manage Hospice UK s existing fundraising programmes in individual giving in order to maximise returns from existing donor base Achieve the annual targets agreed for all areas of individual giving Prepare detailed income and expenditure reports for each area of activity, and interpret data in order to measure effectiveness and return on investment Assist the Director of Income Generation with preparing the annual budget. Prepare quarterly forecasts for individual giving income and report monthly on performance against targets Provide expertise and guidance on all matters relating to gift aid, including maximising income and work closely with the finance team to ensuring gift aid declarations are accurately made and stored Working with the colleagues who support communications and marketing activities to produce strong and compelling fundraising materials for a wide range of media ffective line management, professional support and personal development of the Individual Giving & Legacy xecutive and the Payroll Giving xecutive Increase levels of supporter engagement and stewardship. Work with the team to develop and implement a stewardship programme including regular newsletters, mailings and on-line activity xplore and test new methods for donor recruitment and increasing donations Lead on the growth and delivery of the nascent mid-level donors programme - Hospice UK Ambassadors Work collaboratively across teams to help generate leads for corporate, challenge events and major donors To perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Director of Income Generation. 3 Person Specification = essential D= desirable xperience and knowledge Importance Criteria D A sound knowledge and understanding of individual giving, legacy and payroll giving fundraising Considerable experience of preparing programmes of activity and business plans to recruit, engage, inspire and retain donors xperience of developing and implementing an individual giving strategy. The ability to do this is essential for the role and experience of doing it an advantage. A proven track record of success in working with others, ideally managing a team, to deliver high quality results to deadlines. Knowledge of budgets and experience of reporting financial performance against targets Knowledge of regulatory environment for fundraising from individuals including data protection, Gift Aid and fundraising codes of practice and regulation Assessment Skills and abilities Importance Criteria Demonstrable ability to line manage a small team and support and develop staff The ability to lead and inspire others to deliver against targets and objectives xceptional interpersonal skills, and able to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders Ability to work across teams and departments in a collaborative manner and to proactively engage colleagues on projects and initiatives xcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a fluent writing style and the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media and audiences A keen eye for detail and to ensure high standards whilst working under pressure xcellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work to deadlines Assessment Page 3 of 5

5 Terms and Conditions of appointment Contract Salary Probation period Notice period Work Pattern Pension Life Assurance Simplyhealth Scheme Childcare vouchers Cycle to work scheme Season ticket loan Holiday Permanent 38,300 per annum The probationary period is six months One month Full time, 35 hours per week Subject to edibility you will be auto enrolled into our pension scheme which is at 4%. Further contributions can be made to the scheme and Hospice UK will match contributions of up to 7% of your gross salary. Is provided upon start date at three times salary, subject to acceptance by our insurers A cash plan scheme, which provides payments towards everyday healthcare treatments for example dental, optical etc. up to a policy limit. All employees will be covered under level two of the scheme. We offer childcare vouchers Loaning of a cycle via a salary sacrifice scheme. An interest free loan is provided 25 days per year, increasing to 27.5 days in the second year and 30 days in the third. The leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December. An additional 10 days of bonus leave is granted with five years service. This is taken with 10 days from the normal leave entitlement to allow a full months break.
