2 Joint stock company «Murmansk shipping company» comprises a fleet of three Russian shipping companies: JSC «Murmansk shipping company», JSC «Northern shipping company» and JSC «Northern river shipping company» of total 274 units with deadweight about 1,2 million tons.

3 The Northern Sea Route the essential national transportational line of Russian Federation that is situated within its inland seas,territorial sea (territorial waters), or exclusive economic zone adjacent to the Russian Federation Northern Coast and includes seaways suitable for leading ships in ice, the extreme points of which are limited in the west by the WESTERN entrance to the Novaya Zemlya Straits and the meridian running north through Mys Zhelaniya, and in the east (in the Bering Strait) by the parallel 66 o N and the meridian 168 o W. 30 o 150 o 60 o 90 o 120 o

4 The ice dues applicable for transportation of the cargoes while the vessel is navigating on the Northern Sea Route. The ice dues are set out by the respective acts of the Federal Committee on tariffs. Currently the Act of the FCT of Russia dated VAT in 18% is charged additionally in accordance with the Tax Law of the Russian Federation. 14 GENERAL CARGO CARRIAGE Apart from the Arctic, our vessels serve also the international trade on a wordlwide scale, being especially keen on coal, fertilizers, grain and ores. The special design of the vessels allows them to carry both general and bulk cargoes, while some ships (SA-15 type) are able to transport cars and trucks. All vessels can carry containers.
