The effectiveness of the course can be enhanced by making students active partners in the learning process. Mini projects/games/ case analyses should be done in groups of four or five students. In general, ask students to do following: Understand supply chain challenges for one Indian FMCG firm by collecting primary as well as secondary data. Mini project I can be done on that company and mini project II can be done on industry group relating the FMCG company chosen for the study. Students can collect articles on that company from business periodicals and visit that company s website for supply chain related details. Students can try and meet company s dealer as well as sales manger located in their city for developing better understanding of the chosen company s supply chain challenges While doing any case analysis students try and collect some primary data. For example while analysing Subhiksha case students should visit Subhiksha outlet in their neighbourhood. Similarly while analysing Marico/Kurlon. They can try and interact with retailer/dealer in their neighbourhood to understand relative service (compare to competitors) provided by the respective companies. Students should be encouraged to build Excel-based models for case analysis. Pearson Education
