1 This section describes the process a Shipping & Receiving Hi-Lo Operator will go through on a typical inbound (Receiving) and outbound (Shipping) load and stocking material. Equipment: 1. Hi-Lo 2. Pen 3. Marker 4. Clipboard General Guidelines: Operate in a proper and safe manner at all times -When trailer is placed at Dock - ensure door is open (and/or Safety Chain is pulled), wheels are chocked and Dock Plate is pulled & secured Obtain Driver Safety sheet and return to Driver upon completion of work (Refer to WI-07) Maintain a safe and clean work area (dispose of waste into compactor, cardboard into bailer) Use personal Protective Equipment as required (i.e. gloves) Adhere to scheduled lunch/ break times unless otherwise advised If you see spilled, damaged or poor quality material in the warehouse: a) Notify Supervisor to complete Non-Conforming Product Exception report. b) Remove material from work area and place in the Non-conforming Product (NCP) Area. c) Attach a copy of Exception Report onto material. d) Verify no material is damaged on inbound loads prior to stocking Communicate any performance issues to your Supervisor Understand and adhere to Customer requirements Any additional duties that need to be completed and/or may be requested by the Supervisor. At the end of shift park forklift in designated parking area Perform inspection via the Forklift/Tugger Checklist at the start of each shift and turn into Supervisor. If foreign material is found, notify Supervisor immediately (see Procedure 2.5 Non-Conforming Product) Receiving: 1. Supervisor assigns Dockman inbound load to be broken a.) Dockman obtains Driver Safety Sheet from Driver and performs visual check of trailer to ensure no damaged material has arrived b) If damaged material is found, notify Supervisor immediately and take picture of material while it is still on inbound trailer (see Procedure 2.5 Non-Conforming Product) c.) Dockman verify s part numbers with scheduled quantities off of MGO sid printout. d.) Dockman initials on MGO sid printout after verifying correct quantities and part numbers off of inbound. e.) Any shortages or overages of freight that occur, dockman makes note on MGO sid printout and informs supervisor. f.) Dockman puts material into designated staging areas or stocks into dlocs. g.) After trailer has been completely emptied of material, reload with designated containers per the CLIPS preliminary manifest. Page 1 of 5 Printed: 06/21/07
2 h.) Dockman turns in completed MGO sid printout and CLIPS preliminary manifest to supervisor or material analyst. i.) Pull dock plate out of trailer, put safety chain up or pull door down and inform Driver that load is complete by handing over Driver Safety Sheet. (See WI27) 2. Any additional duties that need to be completed and/or may be requested by the Supervisor. 3. At the end of each shift park Forklift in designated parking area. Note: Empty containers used for trash may be included with inbound material place in designated areas Receiving Glass Parts 1. Procedures for unloading all Glass Parts: a.) Only use Hi-Lo with 42 forks b.) Only pick-up load from the end of rack (see photo 1b) c.) Always drive Hi-Lo completely flush to rack mast of Hi-Lo must rest against windshield rack. (see photo 1a) d.) Only carry 2 racks stacked together e.) Always raise the rack never push a rack of windshields on the warehouse floor. f.) The speed of the Hi-Lo when moving a rack of windshields is walking speed. g.) Do not jar or drop windshield racks on warehouse floor. h.) Never pick-up windshield racks from the load/unload side of racks (i.e. the side that the operator would remove/install windshields from rack. Photo 1a Page 2 of 5 Printed: 06/21/07
3 Corporate Shipping Seal Policy (Canadian & Mexican Shipments) 1. Upon receiving seal # from Supervisor or Material Analyst verify accuracy against the seal # on the trailer. a. If the seal # matches, cut off seal with bolt cutters and notify material analyst or Supervisor. b. If the seal # does not match the seal on the trailer, do not remove the seal. Notify your supervisor immediately. 2. After trailer completion reload with proper empty racks. a. Turn in completed clips paperwork to Material Analyst. b. Reseal the trailer with designated seal from Material Analyst. Stocking: In order to keep inventory levels current according to dates, ALL material must be stocked in the following F.I.F.O. (First In First Out) manner. DLOC Type: Multiple Row Flow Through Single Row Store/Retrieve Method Parts must be stocked into the Store side of the DLOC from right to left using the first empty row as a starting point. Parts must be stocked into the Store side of the DLOC in a straight line. Flow Through Single Row Non-Flow Through The oldest date should be stocked on the top of the stack. The newest date should be stocked on the bottom of the stack. Page 3 of 5 Printed: 06/21/07
4 1) Ensure trailer wheels are chocked, dock plate is set & secured and Dock door is up before entering the trailer. 2) Retrieve inbound material and place in proper DLOC according to assigned DLOC and Stacking height. Note: Supervisors conduct daily inventory audits using the BULK Parts & DLOC Log. These Logs are to be used by BULK staff as a countermeasure for identifying BULK DLOC s & part locations, including the Min/Max requirements for each part. 3) Stocker/Unloader breaks down all collapsible returnable containers, disposes of cardboard and trash in appropriate areas. 4) Replenish Bulk DLOC storage location with Bulk overflow in a FIFO manner. 5) Repeat steps 2 7 until shift is completed. MAX Violations: a) When a part exceeds it s maximum level, notify the Supervisor Note: Designated Stocker will perform weekly FIFO audit and complete Bulk FIFO Audit Form noting any discrepancies and verifying completion.
