2 Neptuno C.A. is a Venezuelan Telecommunications Civil Infrastructure Company with over 30 years of experience. A visionary Italian entrepreneur founded it back in Starting as a very small company, it has become part of the overall evolution of the Venezuelan Telecommunications Sector. When the company started operations there was only the government owned Phone Company in Venezuela, CANTV. Neptuno worked very closely with CANTV in the build-out of complete Switching Offices for its nationwide network among other projects. Neptuno C.A. quickly became one of the main civil infrastructure contractor s of CANTV, gaining the industries confidence and recognition. With the advent of Cellular Technology, Neptuno, together with all the players in the industry world wide prepared itself to take part in it. Neptuno began by providing the engineering design for Telecommunications Projects, and then it backward integrated, first on the installation and then on the manufacturing of Metallic Structures. Neptuno participated in the build-out of the first Venezuelan Cellular Network from the ground up. The company has since grown with the industry, it has learned with handson experience, as it was all happening in real time. Today, Neptuno can proudly say that it has participated in the supply and/or installation of over 3,000 towers located along the entire Venezuelan territory. Its core business has become the Manufacturing and installation of Towers, Monopoles and Shelters and its presence in Venezuela is so evident that they have contributed in one way or another in the deployment of each one of the Mobility Networks currently in Service in the country. Neptuno has also shown its versatility and flexibility by developing Tower designs for the Broadcasting, Oil and Electrical industries. After many successful years in business Neptuno is still a privately held company in which the main objectives still are the continued improvement and development of its engineering and manufacturing capabilities, the development and motivation of its people and most importantly the delivery of the customer s expectations. For Neptuno, Venezuela is and will always be its natural market. It was born there, it knows every squared inch of territory. Neptuno felt ready to start gaining International Experience in 1982, when it successfully completed its first Tower shipment to Costa Rica. 4 It is because of these experiences that Neptuno now feels ready not only to increase its presence to the rest of the Latin American region, but also to start offering its products and services to the rest of the world. Neptuno is structured with the following Line of Businesses: Engineering Services: Neptuno offers its customers consulting engineering services: Metallic Structures Engineering and Design: Neptuno provides complete support in the engineering and design of Towers, Monopoles and Shelters. It has formed an extremely talented engineering team allowing it to offer World-class solutions, rivaling its American and European counterparts. Taking into account International Engineering Standards and norms as well as the customer s specifications, is key in order to have the best product fit and technical solution. All of Neptuno s towers and Monopoles meet EIA/TIA 222-F and EIA-RS 222 standards of construction, unless otherwise specified by the customer. There are many factors to be considered when engineering Metal Structures, in the case of Towers and Monopoles we could list the main engineering parameters as: Structure Type and height Actual and Future weight loads Antennae s Type, weight and dimensions Operations and Survival Wind Speeds Cell Site Dimensions There are other elements such as: Wave-guide ladders, Access Ladders, Work and Rest Platforms, Antennas Support, Signaling and Grounding systems among others, that also play an important role in engineering a Tower or a Monopole. One of the strengths that Neptuno has is that it uses custom-made engineering tools that allows them, not only to tailor each solution to meet customer specifications, but also to feed the design and engineering input directly into the machines that are part of the production line. Neptuno s cutting-edge engineering software allows Neptuno s engineers to take into consideration all the earlier listed elements and run different scenarios

5 until the design is optimized and reflects exactly what the customer has requested. If the customer changes its mind about a particular specification, modifications can be made in relative short time, allowing more creativity and interaction between Neptuno and its customer. Towers and Monopoles Weight Load Studies: Neptuno will assess for the customer, the possibility to increase the weight load of an existing tower or monopole. Antenna configurations and requirements change often, and customers do not always consider the fact that their requirements might change with time. Neptuno will make recommendations to the customer regarding the possible changes that need to be made in the structure in order to maintain compliance with the specifications. Tower/Monopoles/Shelters Foundations Engineering and Design: Neptuno will provide the customer with the engineering parameters and calculations in order to build the foundations in which the metallic structure will stand. Foundation design is a critical component in a successful erection of a metallic structure since it is where all the weight of the structure resides. New Solutions Conception: Neptuno is known for designing out-of thebox solutions. The company s policy is don t say no until we have explored all the options. Neptuno will help its customer explore the possibilities and eventually conceive and develop a specific, non-standard solution. Manufacturing: Neptuno s core business has become over the years the manufacturing of Metallic Structures for Telecommunications. Neptuno has worked very hard over the years at having a state-of-the art manufacturing plant that builds high quality Towers, Monopoles and Shelters. Located in Cagua, Venezuela, Neptuno s manufacturing premises has completely automated and independent Production Lines that are connected 24 hours a day to a monitoring system that prevents any unexpected break-downs and/or manufacturing failures. To Neptuno, delivering on the promises made to customers is crucial. It is because of this that they have secured their production capabilities by having duplicated production lines. This is of course, is what also gives them a very significant manufacturing capacity. One of Neptuno s competitive advantages is that it has been able to automate the manufacturing process starting at the engineering design phase. As it was mentioned before, when the complete engineering of a project is ready, the files are transferred via electronic files from the desktop computer in the engineer s desk, to the manufacturing machine in the manufacturing plant. Neptuno makes sure that a quality test is done to the electronic file before the machine starts

6 manufacturing, and then is all set to go. Among the benefits of this process are: the minimization of human errors, the optimization of steel usage, a higher production ratio, less manufacturing personnel, and of course, the security that what is designed by the Project engineer is what is actually built. Strict quality controls are the norm in Neptuno, usually, Product Prototypes are pre-assembled in the manufacturing plant to make sure that customer s will not have any installation problems in case they are installing on their own. Neptuno machines automatically stamp and identify each piece being produced, making it very easy for installers to match the installation drawings instructions with the actual Structure pieces. All the steel parts that go into the towers are made out of high quality A-36 or A-572 steel and once built, all the pieces are hot-dipped galvanized. Towers are delivered with a complete packing list, Installation Drawings and Engineering Memories that have all the detail necessary to install the Metallic Structure. Metallic Structures Manufactured by Neptuno: Self-Supported Towers: Self-supported Towers (Model N-100-2, Model N and Model 300-6) come in many different designs depending on the intended location and function of the tower. Their heights can range for 10m to 100m and can also be custom built to the specification of the customer. Self-Supported Towers can be of Squared or Triangular Sections, depending on customer s specifications. In fact, the highest Self-Supported Tower manufactured by Neptuno is 162 Mts. tall. Guyed-Towers: The Guyed Towers (Model N.700) are sold in 30m, 60m, 90m or custom heights and are designed for various weather and weight conditions. In fact, the tallest Guyed Tower manufactured by Neptuno is 202 Mts. Monopoles: The Monopoles like the other towers come in a variety of standard heights (up to 42 Mts.) and can be custom tailored. Perfilated Monopole: This product is the best example of Neptuno s innovation capabilities. This monopole is made of steel angles bolted together and its maximum height is 40 Mts. It has a base of 1Mts. x 1Mts. reducing the space required by a traditional monopole. It is erected as a Tower, without the need of a crane or heavy-duty equipment like in the case of a traditional Monopole. It is a product designed and patented by Neptuno, which definitely sets them apart from their competitors. Shelters: The Neptuno shelters that are offered are completely pre-built and offer the following advantages:

7 Solid construction Durable through time High degree of thermal insulation Easy to install The Neptuno container (N-19000) is designed to accommodate telephone equipment, data and/or radio communication. Its use to quickly satisfy its customer s service needs, in urban or rural areas. These shelters can be built to handle different specifications from the customer as well as different sizes to conform to the spaces and location requirements. In fact, Neptuno has also developed Cell-On-Wheels (COW) Solutions, in which, they conceived, designed and manufactured a moving Cell Site, for one of its International customers. The solution consisted of placing a Shelter and a retractable tower on a truck that could be driven around. This solution is very useful when major disasters happen since the operators can easily locate the Truck in strategic areas that need temporary coverage. Tower/Monopoles Accessories: Although Neptuno does not manufacture all the Tower and Monopole Accessories it offers, they ensure that a high quality accessory is integrated in the overall solution. The main tower/monopoles accessories that Neptuno offers with its structures are: Signaling System Grounding System Beacon System Safety Climb System Antennae Support Work/Rest Platforms Horizontal and Vertical Wave-Guide Ladders Installation: Installing the products that they build is also part of Neptuno s core business. As it has been mentioned before, Neptuno has vast experience in erecting Telecommunications Towers and Monopoles and assembling Telecommunications Shelters. It goes without saying, that no one understands a product better than the entity that dreams it, conceives it and brings it to life. It is for this reason that Neptuno is in the best position to install its own products. When Neptuno is in charge of the Installation of a Project, it also takes care of all the aspects concerning the Site itself, except for Site Permits and Zoning. Neptuno handles excavation and construction of the Tower/Monopole Foundations, the actual Structure erection, the painting, and site cleaning and conditioning. In the past, Neptuno has faced all sorts of challenges when installing a Metallic Structure. From having Soil conditions that are not optimal for Tower/Monopole Erection, to not having road access to sites in which cases it has had to install with the help of Helicopters. Again, Neptuno is a company that is used to challenges and that can proudly say that it has never surrender in the

Neptuno can also provide, upon request, training for customer s installation crews, or an installations supervisor in the case the customer decides to install the Structure itself. Neptuno has the policy of maintaining a Stock of the Tower/Monopoles that are more commonly requested and that assume manufacturing based on the EIA 222F Standards. However, and because of the high Plant capacity, manufacturing lead times are usually short. Neptuno is very aware of the very aggressive schedules under which most of the Telecommunications companies work and it does its best to deliver under very tight schedules. One thing is for sure, Neptuno believes in the Under promise, Over deliver Theory. They are extremely careful with the promises they make because they have a reputation of excellence to take care of. When delivering an order, especially in the export cases, Neptuno is always looking for the fastest, most economical and safest way to ship the equipment. Neptuno usually uses sea freight since its more economical, however, it has had customers request air freight, in which cases they have been very diligent in not only take care of the complex logistics that are involved in this situation but also in assessing the plane load capacities and cargo placement to ensure arrival, in perfect conditions, of the structures to their destination country. It is important to highlight the fact that all the equipment that is exported is placed in inhouse made, non-recoverable metallic pallets, that allow each Tower/Monopole to be delivered individually, preventing them from getting damaged as well as preventing the loss or mix-match of pieces. Neptuno also designed these pallets in a way that they can be placed one on top of the other, optimizing the container space, since in a 20 container they can place three pallets Horizontally and three pallets vertically using all the dimensions of the container.!!"# Neptuno s has demonstrated that it has the experience, the potential and most importantly the ability to deliver to customers what they really need.
