1 Andersen Intelligent Quote (iq) Software Update RELEASE: Version 16.1 August 1, 2016 SUBJECT: EFFECTIVE: Andersen Intelligent Quote (iq) Software Update Immediately Version 16.1 Overview Andersen is pleased to bring you the latest release of the Andersen Intelligent Quote (iq) software. Included in this release of the software are some exciting new product options that will make quoting Andersen easier and faster. New Interior Color Options for 400 Series We have expanded our interior color offerings to include dark bronze and black options. Replacement parts for 400 Series Awning We are now offering an expanded selection of replacement parts which include both part numbered and non-part numbered options. Decommission of 400 Series Frenchwood Hinged Outswing Patio Doors As previously communicated, the 400 Series Frenchwood Outswing Patio Doors are being discontinued and these products have been removed in this release of the iq software. Expanded Interior Color Options for A-Series products More interior finish flexibility is now available with canvas, sandtone, dark bronze, and black interior options for A-Series windows and patio doors. 100 Series Insect Screen Shipment Method Order your 100 Series insect screens applied to the unit or shipped separately. Detailed Software Changes With your assistance, we continue to identify and correct product knowledge and pricing issues in the iq software. The following list details the corrections and/or enhancements included in this release. Reports 1. Added assembled to unit description on reports for factory assembled patio doors. 2. Corrected the issue where the manufacturer instructions special product request (SPR) information was displaying on accessory items in addition to the unit on the order summary report. Quoting Andersen 400 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung Windows 1. Updated the description to include the liner color for 400 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung window units with dark bronze or black exterior color, pre-finished white interior color, and grey jamb liners. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the description will include grey jamb liner. 2. Added a warning message for Narroline to Tilt-Wash Conversion Kits clarifying that the kits can only be used on Perma-Shield Narroline windows manufactured between 1963 and 2013 and not on Primed Narroline units produced prior to Version 16.1

Corrected the issue where the narrow vertical joining kit was missing from the material list for 400 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung windows and Tilt-Wash Transom windows in canvas, dark bronze, or black with a two-directional configuration greater than 6 5 in height. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the joining kit will be included. 400 Series Perma-Shield Casement & Awning Windows 1. Corrected the issue where the grille bars in Colonial pattern with prefinished interior colors and Specified Equal Light pattern in all interior choices were missing when quoted with a 400 Series Perma-Shield Casement Transom double-wide or triple-wide. When updating the quotes from v16.0 to v16.1 the grille bars will be included. 400 Series Specialty Windows 1. Corrected the issue where instructions to manufacturer and the associated pricing were not appearing as a pricing line for 400 Series Circle Top windows units. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the instructions to manufacturer and associated pricing line will display within the line item and on reports. 2. Corrected the part number for 400 Series Stormwatch and non-stormwatch Circle window units quoted with pine key block kits in any jamb depth. When updating quotes from v16.0 to v16.1 the correct part number will be assigned. Architectural Specialty Windows 1. Corrected the issue where dark bronze joining material was not included when joining Architectural Specialty Windows to standard Andersen product. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the joining material will now appear. 200 Series Windows 1. Corrected the part number for the 200 Series transom white prefinished 4 9/16 wall depth side extension jamb FX10 size quoted down the unit path. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct part number will be assigned. A-Series Windows (This product is available in a limited area at this time) 1. Corrected the issue where the user was unable to enter a valid specified equal lite removable grille pattern for A-Series Double-Hung, Casement, Awning, Picture, and Transom windows quoted down the Accessory path. The user will now have the ability to quote these items. 2. Corrected the pricing for A-Series window factory painted or primed vertical or horizontal grille bars. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct price will be assigned. 3. Corrected the minimum frame height limitation for A-Series Double Hung Cottage Sash and A-Series Double Hung Reverse Cottage Sash units from 27 1/4 to 31 3/4. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the software will redline units with a frame height less than 31 3/4 and force the user to enter a valid frame height. 100 Series Windows (This product is available in a limited area at this time) 1. Corrected the pricing for 100 Series window insect screens shipped with the unit. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct price will be assigned. 2 Version 16.1

3 2. Corrected the maximum sizes allowed for 100 Series Awning with Transom units. The software was allowing units to be quoted at heights greater than the maximum allowed. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the software will redline. If you open a line item that has incorrect dimensions: cancel without saving changes, print a report showing what was quoted, then delete the line item and requote. 3. Corrected the number of sash locks displayed for 100 Series Gliding Windows XO/OX with frame heights between 48 and 50 from 2 locks to 1. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct number of sash locks will be assigned. 4. Corrected the sizes allowed for 100 Series unequal leg arch units. The software was allowing units to be quoted with a combination of width, height, short leg, and radius that could not be manufactured. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to 16.1 the software will redline and force the user to adjust one or more measurements related to height, width, short leg, or radius. 5. Increased product performance for 100 Series Casement, 100 Series Awning, and most 100 Series Fixed. The Performance Grade rating will increase from PG 30 to PG40. A-Series Patio Doors (This product is available in a limited area at this time) 1. Corrected the lead time for A-Series Frenchwood doors in sizes over 7 11 ½ in height. The lead time was reflected as 30 days when it should be 25 days. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the lead time will show the correct 25 days. 2. Corrected the part number for A-Series Frenchwood Hinged Outswing patio doors retractable insect screens quoted down the accessory path. When quoting a right hand insect screen, the software was displaying the part number for the left hand insect screen. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct part number will be assigned. 3. Corrected the part number being assigned when quoting an exterior keyed lock for a four panel A- Series Frenchwood Gliding patio door unit. The software was displaying the right hand keyed lock instead of the left hand keyed lock. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct part number will be assigned. 4. Corrected the part numbers being assigned when quoting keyed alike exterior keyed locks on a three panel A-Series Frenchwood Gliding patio door unit. The software was assigning two left hand locks instead of one left and one right hand. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct left and right hand locks will be assigned. 5. Corrected the pricing for A-Series patio door factory painted or primed vertical or horizontal grille bars. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct price will be assigned. 6. Corrected the lead time for A-Series patio doors, transoms, sidelights, sidelight transoms, and accessories quoted with vertical grain douglas fir, mahogany, or cherry interior species. The lead time was reflected as 10 days when it should be 25 days. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct lead time will be assigned. A-Series Patio Doors (This product is available in a limited area at this time) 1. Corrected the lead time for A-Series Frenchwood doors in sizes over 7 11 ½ in height. The lead time was reflected as 30 days when it should be 25 days. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the lead time will show the correct 25 days. 400 Series Frenchwood Patio Doors 1. Corrected the part number being assigned when quoting an exterior keyed lock for a four panel Frenchwood Gliding patio door unit. The software was displaying the right hand keyed lock instead of the left hand keyed lock. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct part number will be assigned. 3 Version 16.1

4 2. Corrected the part number, description, and price when quoting an extension jamb strike plate for custom depth interior extension jambs on Frenchwood Hinged Inswing patio door units. The software was displaying a missing pricing detail error. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct part number, description, and price will be assigned. 3. Corrected the issue where the white Albany interior split finish hardware set was missing when quoted with a 400 Series Frenchwood Inswing or Outswing patio door unit. When updating the quotes from v16.0 to v16.1 the hardware will be included. 4. Corrected the pricing for exterior extension jambs with 7 9/16 jamb depth for custom size 400 Series Frenchwood Hinge Inswing patio doors. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct price will be assigned. 200 Series Patio Doors 1. Added black as a color for exterior keyed locks for 200 Series Inswing Patio Doors in the Accessories section. 2. Corrected the pricing for the 200 Series Inswing Patio Door hinge kits quoted down the accessory path. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct price will be assigned. 3. Corrected the tall fractional grille drawing for 200 Series PermaShield gliding patio doors singlewide. The drawing was not displaying the correct tall fractional grille pattern. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the drawing will now show the correct grille pattern. 4. Corrected the issue where the white Albany interior split finish hardware set was missing when quoted with a 200 Series Inswing Patio Door unit. When updating the quotes from v16.0 to v16.1 the hardware will be included. 5. Corrected the pricing for Modified Colonial with Check Rail, Short Fractional with Check Rail, and Tall Fractional with Check Rail grill patterns on 200 Series Inswing Patio Door units. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct price will be assigned. 100 Series Patio Doors (This product is available in a limited area at this time) 1. Added a warning message for exterior keyed locks quoted down the 100 Series patio door accessories path that the exterior keyed lock can only be used with the Tulsa style trim set. 2. Corrected the pricing for 100 Series patio door insect screens shipped with the unit. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 the correct price will be assigned. Architectural MultiGlide Patio Doors (This product is available in a limited area at this time) 1. Introducing the new Architectural MultiGlide Patio Door for iq v16.1. This product will only be available in a limited area at this time. Miscellaneous Changes 1. A promotional price reduction will appear for VeriLock Sensors quoted down the unit or accessory paths. When updating quotes from iq v16.0 to v16.1 or quoting new items, the new promotional base price will be applied. 2. Enhanced the Special Product Request (SPR) Number field to allow 5 or 6 digits. This field is visible when the answer to Instructions to Manufacturer is Yes. 3. Added a warning message to A-Series and 400 Series Casement, Awning, and Picture Windows for the Modified Colonial and Short Fractional grille patterns, with and without check rail, informing the user that the lower horizontal bar placement will vary with the height of unit selected. If the desire is to have a consistent lower bar placement, the user should select the Specified Equal Light Fractional pattern. This warning message will appear only for newly quoted items. 4 Version 16.1

5 4. The SHGC and U-Factor values may change when updating from v16.0 to v16.1 based upon our most current testing data. 5. Added heard board only option and part numbers for many 400 Series Tilt-Wash bay windows and 400 Series Perma-Shield Casement bay and bow windows down the accessory path. XML / Integration Additional data has been added to the Andersen Detailed.xml format. If you have a software integration that uses either of these.xml file formats, contact the iq software help line at for a list of the detailed changes to these files in this release of the iq software. Known Issues The following issues have been identified and will be addressed in future updates to the iq software: Reporting 1. The dimensional values used on the Unit Spec Report may not be accurate. Note: Dimensional values for Flexiframe and custom arch windows are accurate if built through the Edit Shape window. If the unit is built in the Schematic Configurator and joined to any other product, the dimensions will not be accurate. Quoting 1. When quoting a Perma-Shield awning inside mull casing through Window Accessories in either pine or white, the software is not assigning a part number for the casing. 2. The horizontal grille bars for Perma-Shield awning picture units will not align with the horizontal grille bars for Perma-Shield casement or casement picture windows. 3. The vertical grille bars in a Perma-Shield awning window with a Prairie A grille pattern will not align to the vertical bars in a Perma-Shield casement window when the awning unit is joined to the casement unit. The grilles in the awning window require special alignment. Please contact the Andersen Customer Experience Response Team for assistance in aligning these grille patterns. 4. We are allowing tempered as a glazing option of 100 Series gliding XO/OX and rectangle units that has a diagonal glass measurement less the 13. Our glass supplier cannot provide glass in these sizes. 5. When you quote a custom size Perma-Shield casement bay or bow unit and then change the Size Specification question to standard sizes, the software will not allow you to select a standard size combination. You will need to clear the line item and re-enter it making the standard size selection. 6. When quoting custom Perma-Shield casement bow combinations that have a rough opening greater than or equal to 72 ½, the software is not pulling any side extension jambs if they are selected. 7. When quoting 100 Series replacement sash or TruScene insect screens the software is displaying the incorrect FTL value. The software will calculate the same FTL value for the replacement parts as it does for the complete unit, when in actually it should be less. 8. When quoting A-Series picture windows with Stormwatch protection, the software will allow you to build units over 40 square feet and not require tempered glass. Anything over 40 square feet should be tempered. 5 Version 16.1

6 Pricing 1. When quoting a multi-wide Flexiframe unit combination with factory applied extension jambs, the price of the extension jambs is not rolling into the total price on the detailed.xml file. Flexiframe / Arch Units and Combinations 1. Rough opening dimensions need to factor the angle for units such as a trapezoid into calculations to be accurate. The software will only calculate rough opening dimensions for the overall width and height of the unit. 2. When quoting long length extension jambs down the Window Accessories / Flexiframe Windows path, the software is populating the incorrect price for all jambs except Clear Pine. Joining - Schematic Configurator 1. When joining Flexiframe and custom arch window combinations to other combinations, the Schematic Configurator views the Flexiframe or custom arch window combination as a single unit making it a T-join. This will be treated as a non-factory join, even though it can be joined at the factory. The mull priority should be set to horizontal to make sure the correct parts and pricing are calculated. 2. The unit code when joining Perma-Shield casement and awning windows that do not align exactly may be incorrect when joined in a transom configuration, depending upon which unit is created first. If the individual dimensions of the units you are joining do not align exactly, the first unit created will be listed as the transom unit and the second as the lower unit, even if the actual units are stacked differently. If the units in the combination have the exact same width size, this is not an issue. 3. If you select perimeter extension jambs for a joined combination and then add a Circle Top unit to that combination, the perimeter jambs will be removed from the entire combination. Perimeter jambs for joined combinations containing a unit with a radius are not available in the iq software. 4. When joining a Circle Top window over a 400 Series tilt-wash double-hung window in a TW28-2 or TW30-2 width with LVL reinforced material, the software is failing this join because the overall width of the tilt-wash twin units exceeds the overall width of the Circle Top window by more than 3/8. Engineering has approved this join as valid even though it exceeds our normal joining guidelines and can be quoted through the Andersen Order Center to obtain the correct joining materials. 5. If you join Frenchwood patio doors that exceed 10 in a horizontal direction, the software will display a warning message telling you that the join length exceeds the length of our LVL join material and that no material will be applied to the quote. The mull will remain a blue line valid mull, even though no material is being applied to the quote. 6. When joining an Architectural Specialty Window in black to another window, not all of the necessary joining components are being accounted for in the quote.
