1 LOGISTICS COORDINATOR This position will oversee day to day operations pertaining to the scheduling, purchasing, delivering, and dispatching of petroleum product. As a member of our team, this position will apply their transportation/logistics expertise and offer creative solutions to support operations and make strategic decisions that directly impact financial outcome on each load. Direct responsibilities include: Supervise and coordinate the movement of products between the various petroleum loading terminals and the customer's facility. Actively communicates and makes decisions regarding employees, fleet and product safety. Continually stays in communication with drivers, customers and terminals to provide instructions and to help strengthen the team and increase customer confidence. Monitor markets to predict, plan and execute daily purchasing, product movement and driver assignments. Proactively communicates with customers to determine work flow needs and address and resolve product, transportation and service issues. Contact internal customers (i.e. bulk facilities) and external customers to determine petroleum needs and to solicit additional product delivery. Manage complex scheduling, including the unexpected and rescheduling of trucks and drivers. Respond to customer orders, questions, and complaints/issues timely and professionally. Respond to supplier concerns policies, rules, product allocation as appropriate. Reviews drivers paperwork to ensure it is complete and accurate. Works with common carriers to ensure on-time delivery when necessary. Reviews and provides recommendation on drivers performance. Documents and makes recommendations for all coaching/discipline on drivers. May provide input and/or meet with driver candidates. Evaluate, decide, and direct drivers on where and what type of product will be purchased. Monitor work load vs. available hours of service to ensure DOT compliance for driver workforce. Negotiate and secure acceptable load rates, communicate and coordinate logistical operations. Develop and maintain third-party customer relationships and accounts. Maintain dispatch information in dedicated software systems. Provide expertise of all terminals, company drops, and key customer locations.
2 Complies with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations and company safety practices and procedures. Other duties and projects as assigned. Accountabilities: Manage customer expectations and provide professional, open and frequent communication. Accurately and timely plan and dispatch loads to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability. Provide excellent customer service and ensure strong customer satisfaction results. Sound business decision making skills. Keep all customer information confidential and only use customer information in the context of assigned duties. Support the Mission Statement, Vision and Core Values. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position. Qualifications: An individual must be able to perform or learn these essential duties satisfactorily. The list below is representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required and/or preferred. Positive, assertive attitude, outgoing, service-oriented and self-motivated. Knowledge of the transportation industry and terminology usually gained through practical experience and on-the-job training - knowledge of U.S. geography. Knowledge of the oil and gas industry helpful. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language sufficiently enough to perform the designated duties. Excellent relationship management skills, negotiation skills and understanding of customer needs and market requirements. o Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple. Excellent negotiating and problem solving skills. Strong computer and keyboarding skills, MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Internet and transportation related software. Proficient in business communications; written and oral. Perform basic mathematical calculations with mental ability to read maps, schedules, and road signs and maintain reports. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems while meeting organizational objectives. Timely decisions must be made and executed properly to ensure customer satisfactions, asset utilization/efficiency and profitability. Sound judgement and decision making skills in a fast paced and high stress situations.
3 Other work and projects as assigned. Education: Bachelor s Degree in Transportation or related field from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience. Two to three years transportation experience preferred. 4 2. Logistics Coordinator The Logistics Coordinator track and trace freight and enter data in timely manner. The main purpose of this position is to schedule shipments, load tendering, shipment tracing, updating shipment status and planning of assigned customer shipment. You will also be accountable to manage projects assigned by manager including tending freight to carriers, creating carrier reports and problem solving carrier/customer issues. Primary Responsibilities: Efficiently schedules drivers, equipment and product in a manner which ensures on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Analyzes related variables and sets driver schedules in a fair, efficient and professional manner to ensure fairness while achieving maximum efficiency and cost savings to both the customer and BCI. Works directly with customers to address and resolve all service issues and provides timely follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction. Works with common carriers when necessary to ensure customers receive their fueling needs. Supervision, scheduling and daily management of assigned area and logistics operations. Sets driver s schedules in a fair, efficient and professional manner to achieve 100% customer satisfaction while achieving maximum efficiency and cost savings for both the customer and the Company. Responsible for measuring and improving asset utilization for all transportation assets employed by the company. Works effectively with internal/external customers to achieve maximum profitability on fuel while meeting customer delivery windows. Aids in communication between all departments for Logistics including but not limited to maintenance shop, safety, sales, customer service, and Leadership. Monitor daily performance to achieve all operating performance metrics and goals. Responsible for the overall productivity and efficiency measurements related to dispatching the company fleet and customer satisfaction. Ensure proper staffing of drivers for work schedules. Responds to any accidents, spills, shortages, mixed fuel, or maintenance issues following company policies, procedures and practices.
