Because if you can program complex machine sequences effectively and transparently, you have complete control over production. 1 Central management The SELOGICA system is designed for universal use in the programming and control of all known injection molding processes. By offering simple integration of a variety of peripherals, the control system can be used even for managing complete production cells. The SELOGICA system saves time and costs thanks to its uniform operating concept. This means fewer training requirements and no change of approach by your operators when a number of different ALLROUNDERs are in use. Operation is rendered highly cost-effective thanks to the full range of synchronization options for robot and machine movements done by the central control system. Accordingly, short cycle times can be pre-programmed. The management of settings data is simpler than ever; there is only one data set for the complete production unit. 2 Intuitive operation All data can be accessed immediately, rapidly and simply by means of the 15-inch SELOGICA touchscreen. The graphic operating system, which is compatible with a wide variety of technologies, is self-explanatory. The unique sequence editor with patented, real-time plausibility check always clearly indicates the logical position of the current programming step. This prevents operating errors right from the start. Full data-record compatibility during all development stages of the control system ensures smooth molded part production. Rapid orientation and familiarization of the operating personnel takes place in an easily-assimilated manner via the patented topic navigation, self-explanatory controls and a clear graphic display. Reliable optimization: numerous options for process optimization, monitoring and documentation. 3 Fast setup times The input logic of the SELOGICA system is based around the mold setup sequence and optimization of the injection molding process. Setup-time and cost savings can be achieved by means of clearly laid out screen pages with tables and graphics, as well as simple sequence programming by means of graphic symbols. This makes even complex sequences more comprehensible and transparent. The Set-up Assistant module supports daily operations from menu-guided mold installation and automatic calculation of the parameters through to teach-in of the finished sequence no in-depth knowledge required. Equally convenient in terms of the human/machine interface is the teach-in function for robotic systems. 4 Reliable optimization Simple and reliable control of complex systems this is the domain of the SELOGICA system. The control system contributes to high process stability and reproducibility by means of precise control of temperatures (adaptive in this case), pressures, speeds and positions. The SELOGICA system provides this thanks to operator guidance that is selectable according to the working situation. For example, topic navigation with a permanently displayed structure for greater clarity, sequence navigation for direct screen selection from the production sequence and the direct jump fields for fast access to the process optimization feature. 2 Simple parameter entry Parameters can be optionally entered by means of tables or graphics. Different functions are assigned unambiguous color codes. The display generally faces the direction of the respective movements. This makes the operating system extremely easy to understand, as it is strictly based on the practical setup procedures used at injection molding plants. 5 3 Reliable parameter entry User identification is achieved using RFID card technology according to Euromap. Data entry can be limited by means of access authorization. All changes are logged according to user, ensuring unambiguous traceability. Data entry can be performed using numerical values, from a selection list or as text in separate pop-up windows. Settingrange limits are indicated on the display. 4 Convenient parameter entry Plain text displays make work easy and convenient. The three direct access keys can be individually assigned to provide direct, selective access to data. In addition, all the parameters that are important for a data record can be combined on freely configurable pages. This enables you to create a parameter-based authorization system. 6 Menu-guided set-up 1 Efficient mold change The required mould removal and installation steps are pre-defined, are simply executed one after the other and confirmed on a central screen page. The control system automatically executes sub-sequences, such as referencing (zeroing) individual axes, with a single push of a button. No parameters need to be entered. 2 Automatic calculation Very little process-related data has to be entered in order to have the basic processing parameters such as temperature, pressure and speed calculated automatically. The SELOGICA system features a comprehensive database for this purpose, which can be extended with the customer s own material at any time. Here, individual selection options Guided mold change: step-by-step for an efficient work sequence. The Set-up Assistant module offers you active support in setting up machines in every situation. From mold change and the automatic calculation of parameters through to teachin of the finished production sequence, your operators are guided step-by-step through all the necessary actions. The work of parameter entry is reduced to an absolute minimum. This simultaneously establishes an efficient work sequence. In addition, the system remains open to subsequent adjustments and optimizations. Providing practical solutions is the major advantage of the SELOGICA. Furthermore, all the available monitoring and log functions can be automatically initialized at the click of a button. The usual entry of parameters in a variety of screens and the selection of various monitoring and log functions can therefore be completely dispensed with. 3 Teaching the production sequence Here, all the operator has to do is execute and confirm the necessary movements one after the other. All parameter entries and the completion of the production sequence run automatically in the background. Monitoring functions such as the position for mold protection, for example, are determined during guided set-up or teach-in. Robotic sequences can also be created in this way. 8 Intelligent graphic sequence programming 1 Selective entry of process steps Fast access to the available sequence symbols is made easier through logical grouping. The sequence editor suggests the suitable machine and application-related sequence symbols and their positioning. This means that start-up and shut-down sequences or travel-dependent starting during simultaneous machine movements, for example, can be configured with ease. 2 Simple creation of process sequences For the sake of simplicity, the SELOGICA system operates with predefined basic sequences for the applicable machine equipment, which can be rapidly and individually adapted to all mold-specific production tasks. This enables easy editing of operating steps; the relevant parameter pages can be directly selected from the sequence editor. Fast access: Available sequence symbols. The necessary flexibility of your injection molding processes, combined with maximum transparency, are assured by just one individually-adaptable, graphic sequence-programming screen. The control system already displays the logical positioning of the current process step during sequence programming and checks that operator entries are complete. 10 Process optimization and documentation. 1 Targeted process optimization As a universal aid for process optimization, freely-configurable process graphics are used in the SELOGICA system. Operation is made even more convenient through the option of automatically configuring the process graphics. Direct intervention is ensured through the display of all signals. The recorded signals can be measured using the cursor while production is in progress. Operators can thus directly influence product quality, detect problems in a targeted manner, while preventively reducing cycle times and reject parts. All these features ensure greater economy and quality throughout the production process. Continuously recorded: clear alarm history. A machine control system that can be put to effective use must of course also offer operators extensive process-optimization, monitoring and documentation options. Only then can competitive production at minimum unit costs be achieved. The SELOGICA s numerous ingenious control options cannot fail to impress in this respect. 11 2 Detailed process monitoring An easy-to-record reference curve forms the basis of monitoring graphics for individual online supervision of quality limit values. Graphical evaluations of this kind can be created in the form of peak or mean values, envelopes or integrals. Up to eight of these monitoring graphics are provided by the SELOGICA system. 3 Effective quality control Here also, a high level of convenience is a priority of all the available features: reference values and tolerance ranges for actual process values can be determined automatically and the set tolerances monitored in detail. If reject parts are produced, these can be separated out using a sorter unit or robotic system. The evaluation of fault cycles aids the targeted prevention of reject parts. 4 Seamless process documentation The individual recording of actual qualityrelevant process values takes place through the production log. This also forms the basis for all statistical evaluations. The complete production sequence is displayed by means of a log graphic. 13 2 Central parameter entry As well as robotic systems, mold heating circuits can also be directly activated. This means that the SELOGICA completely takes on the task of control. Commercially-available peripheral devices can also be easily integrated via standardized interfaces. Monitoring inputs enable the injection molding process to be controlled as a function of granulate feed, compressed air or the water supply, for example. Further customized integration options are made possible by the freely-programmable inputs and outputs (PEAs). Moreover, machine control data can be used across systems via the host computer interface for connection to BDE, MES or remote maintenance systems such as the ARBURG SAP-certified host computer system (ALS). 3 Central storage of setting data With the SELOGICA, Compact Flash cards ensure convenient, comprehensive data storage. One data set contains all the parameters for the entire production unit, enabling simpler, faster and more reliable data management and set-up. To enable you to freely configure your injection molding processes, optimize your settings and, ultimately, produce as efficiently as possible, the SELOGICA control system offers a virtually inexhaustible variety of functions. Automatic start-up/shutdown with individual start-up and shutdown sequences, cycle time diagrams and maintenance displays all features focus consistently on your everyday production. This begins with set-up and continues through to individual process optimization. As you know, a machine is only ever as good as its control system. And this is where SELOGICA sets standards. 1 Cycle time diagram With the cycle time diagram, the current run times of each individual cycle step are graphically contrasted with previously defined reference values. Moreover, these sub-processes are broken down into start, delay and run time. In this way, all the necessary information for analyzing and optimizing a production cycle is contained on a single screen page. Unproductive time can be recognized and avoided through the better co-ordination of sub-processes. Any deviations that occur in the production process can be allocated immediately to the respective function, without having to open individual parameter pages. The more complex the processes become, the more useful this tool is. 2 Maintenance display Depending on the configuration of the ALLROUNDER machine, all the necessary maintenance data and intervals are already stored as plain text. As an option, individual maintenance specifications, relating to peripherals used, for example, can be entered manually. In this way, a clear maintenance plan can be generated for the entire production unit including the monitoring of due dates and automatic reminders for forthcoming maintenance work. In addition, the SELOGICA records the correct completion of pending maintenance work in a maintenance log. As a result, every completed maintenance task remains fully transparent, also providing ideal verification for audits and certifications /2013
