5 Integrated Platform Management Systems (EGSIS) EGS-Praxis Automation (EGSIS) is a distributed control system including the following features : Consoles with Operator Stations (OS) and data servers: providing the Human Machine Interface (HMI) It allows multiple coordinated operator stations to be operated together with networked automation systems User Archives option allows the application of User Archives, in which related data is stored in data records. Real-time, central archiving of data facilitates fast decision making on the basis of secured data for increased productivity Redundant servers and communications paths Open system, allowing to embed automation component of other automation suppliers via various interfaces EGSIS (EGS-Praxis IPMS) Mega-Guard Machinery Monitoring and Control System is the perfect automation solution for medium to large size vessels. It can be used as a stand-alone Machinery Control and Monitoring System or the Mega-Guard can be extended with Power Management, Cargo Control, Propulsion Control, Integrated Navigation and Dynamic Positioning functions. - 6-

System Components Consoles The EGS IPMS consoles offer the operators an ergonomically designed work place.

6 System Components Consoles The EGS IPMS consoles offer the operators an ergonomically designed work place. The consoles cater space for Operator Work Stations, Propulsion Control Panels, Fire Detection Controllers, Damage Control Panels and Government/Yard Furnished Equipment. Operator Work Stations An Operator Workstation consists out of a TFT colour graphic screen, Operator Keyboard with Trackball, Marine Personal Computer and optional Printer. The Operator Workstation provides a reliable and userfriendly operator interface to ensure safe operation. Distributed Processing Units A Distributed Processing Unit (DPU) is a PLC based data collection unit that is mounted close to the platform systems with which it is interfaced. Fire Detection System The FDS has its own set of analogue addressable fire/smoke detectors. The FDS collects the sensor data from the fire/smoke detectors, which are arranged in loops. The FDS is interfaced with the redundant Platform Data Network.

CCTV The CCTV system consists of CCTV cameras, which are connected via CCTV web servers to the ship s Fiber Optic (FO) network. The cameras are distributed through the entire ship, both indoor and outdoor. The camera images are transmitted via the FO network to the various workstations. Stability Calculation The IPMS is equipped with an integrated stability calculator to calculate the stability of the ship. The Extension Alarm System (EAS) The extension alarm system is a highly reliable engineer calling system, which extends the Mega-Guard Ship Automation System for unmanned machinery space operation. - 8-

It can be manufactured by means of using molding technologies or extrusion processes. Easily machined and can be constructed using special welding processes.

Life of PE is assumed to be 50 years but real life is longer than that. PE materials are very elastic.

Compared to other polyethylene, stronger and more rigid and comparatively heavier and thought then LDPE (low density polyethylene). HDPE is lighter then water. It can be manufactured by means of using molding technologies or extrusion processes. Easily machined and can be constructed using special welding processes. It is hard to combine PE pieces using glue or some chemicals. Main advantages and properties of polyethylene: Resistant to ageing. Life of PE is assumed to be 50 years but real life is longer than that. PE materials are very elastic. Compared to steel, wood and aluminum, PE is lighter and easily constructed. Polyethylene can resist against every kind of environmental working conditions with its anti-corrosive property. Impact strength is extremely high and it is not brittle at low temperatures. High resistance to freezing. PE is economical compared to steel, aluminum and wood. Easy to clean and doesn t keep dust on it. Does not include toxic material.

15 LOW MAINTENANCE COSTS YBM and YBC series boats has rigid construction made of high density extruded polyethylene (HDPE) material.
