As a positive result of this agreement, Mass Céréales was able to unload more cargo than it had anticipated during 2010.

The service agreement also allows close co-operation between Cargotec and the local maintenance staff.

The Siwertell service agreement includes regular supervision, management and training for the maintenance staff and operators to ensure safe and reliable operations. 3 Record breaking through the ship capacity It is a great pleasure to announce that two Siwertell ship unloaders delivered to the TPC Talin Power Plant, Kaohsiung, Taiwan by Cargotec Sweden AB, recently set a record in through the ship capacity during commercial discharge of a bulk cargo. The December 2010 test was carried out with the MV Taipower Prosperity II. The cargo was unloaded by two heavy duty Siwertell ST 940-DOB units. This model is one of the largest Siwertell ship unloaders ever supplied and is designed to unload coal from ships of up to 150,000 dwt with a rated capacity of 2,200 t/h per unit. Two Siwertell ship unloaders for capacity and environmental improvement at TPC Talin Power Plant, Kaohsiung, Taiwan As part of the contract, Cargotec had to prove both, the rated capacity and the average capacity. The average should be minimum 70% of the rated capacity. The two units have a combined rated capacity of 4,400 t/h and therefore they should be able to unload a minimum 3,080 t/h on average throughout the entire discharge of the ship to fulfil this contractual obligation. The MV Taipower Prosperity II was loaded with 89,000 tonnes of coal. Following the test, Tony Aronsson, Site Manager of Cargotec Sweden AB, Taiwan Branch, summarised the figures. The test results make attractive reading for the Taiwan Power Company as well as for Cargotec Sweden AB. Both units passed the rated capacity test, which was to show 2,200 t/h during one hour s operation. For the average capacity the two Siwertell ship unloaders achieved an average of 3,339 t/h equal to 76 % of the rated capacity. But more importantly, Siwertell Unit 1 had an average capacity of 1,592 t/h and Siwertell Unit 2 had an average capacity of 1,747 t/h, so the best unit had an unloading efficiency of 79%. This is a record performance for Cargotec equipment and I believe these are probably the highest through the ship capacity figures ever achieved. In addition to the high capacity, one should also remember the other advantages of the Siwertell unloading system, such as dust free operation, high reliability, easy maintenance, the friendly SIMON HMI system and the high level of service from the Cargotec crew. We are all very happy with the result of the test and proud of the Siwertell ship unloading system that we offer to our customers. The hardware resistant heavy duty vertical conveyor tubes in combination with the heavy duty transport screws will give you a significant higher service life compared with existing versions. This type of vertical screws and vertical conveyor tubes has recently been installed on Siwertell grain unloaders in Nigeria and Colombia with very good results. Please contact us and we can give you comparison of older versions of conveyor performance and new, heavy duty wear resistant performance cost per unloaded ton according to your type of ship unloader. Our customer PT. Semen Gresik in Indonesia signed a refurbishment contract in April with us, Cargotec Sweden, Bulk Handling Services. The purpose for the refurbishment is to install the unloader according to original plans in 1997 and with a belt conveying system to take care of the coal from the ship unloader, type ST- 640F. About 2 millions tons of coal per year will be unloaded from barges of dwt with a capacity of 700 tph. The project is devided in five main phases; Design and manufacturering of equipment, Transport of equipment, Local overhaul, Site installation, Commissioning and training. For the refurbishment and upgrade of the ship unloader to 700 tph rated capacity we will for example install new vertical conveyor and vertical drive machinery. On the horizontal conveyor we will deliver a complete new conveyor with transport screws, and bearings according to today s Siwertell standard with improved service life. The gantry conveyor with transport screws will be replaced with new ones and a complete new electrical system will be pre-installed and factory tested in a tailor-made container in Sweden. The site work will start with lifting planning together with customer and the crane company. After this the dismantling of the unloader starts with electrical disconnections of the slewing part. The coming parts will be defined in order to ensure machine stability and safety. When all parts are lifted down and transported to the job site, the refurbishment work starts by inspection and control of measure of all dismantled hinges. Then the electrical systems and cables will be installed and re-installation starts. The new vertical conveyor will be aligned after installation of the complete arm system. At the end the ship unloader will be tested and training will be performed by a Siwertell surveyor. 5
