2 NEWS Chiwan Container Terminal has been awarded the 3rd Place of Top Ten Container Terminal CPHA (China Ports & Harbours Association)Summit has recently held in Fuzhou. The convention has announced the result of China s Container Terminals Awards, Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT) has been awarded the 3 rd Place of Top Ten Container Terminals. Up to now, CPHA s Container Branch has successfully held four sessions of China s Container Terminal Awards. Each year, container terminals from all over the country will participate in this event. Committees have taken participators port handling capacity, operation efficiency and other performance indicators into consideration as assessing standards, selected the Top Ten Container Terminals in China and granted other relevant awards. CCT has gained 3 laurels, which are Top Ten Container Terminal, Outstanding Vessel Operation Productivity Container Terminal and Enterprise with Advanced Management and Superb Social Dedication. The ranking of these Top Ten Container Terminals is made based on their annual throughput. HJS launches three 2,300 TEU capacity vessels to run this service and 2 more vessels will phase in by February next year. The new service calls at CCT every - 2 -

News Source: CCT OPS Department APL loads first 53-footers at Chiwan Container Terminal APL's first 53-foot ocean-capable containers have been loaded aboard the APL Philippines at Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT) for their first voyage to Los Angeles. Larger containers enable shippers to load more cargo in Asia with fewer containers. These 53-foot containers are manufactured in China. This deployment extends the feeder service network of Shenzhen western port CCT and SCT to 14 main port cities in Guangdong and the adjacent provinces. These two feeder services are run by Huasheng Shipping Limited., leaving Yunfu on every Monday and Thursday, arriving at Zhaoqing on every Tuesday and Friday, and arriving at Shenzhen western port CCT and SCT on every Wednesday and Saturday. 4 Port of Shenzhen will be able to achieve 200 million tonnes of cargo / 21 million TEU of containers import & export in 2007 Ports Administration of Shenzhen Municipality has announced the cargo import & export statistics of first 3 quarters of the year, meanwhile has estimated the quantity of cargo and container import and export will reach the level of 200 million tonnes and 21 million TEU. Authority has stated that from January to September, the gross tonnage of cargo import & export at port of Shenzhen has reached the amount of 145 million tonnes with 13.1% yearly growth, and container throughput also has increased by 14%, September s throughput of 2.05 million TEU has set the single month s record. The statistics shows, the throughput of 3 major port area Yiantian, Chiwan and Shekou are 6.71 million TEU, 4.47 million TEU, 3.56 million TEU, with the growth ratio at 11.54%, 16.94%, 13.66% respectively. From June to September, port of Shenzhen has been breaking the single month s record for 4 months in a row, which are 1.7 million, 1.85 million, 1.93 million and 2.05 million in September. News Source: Xinuo News CCT held Anti Stowaway rehearsal successfully On November 8, 2007 at around 8:00am, over 20 people led by Shenzhen Frontier Inspection Bureau came to CCT to hold an Anti Stowaway rehearsal. At Chiwan Area & Mawan Area, the police officers and CCT s security guards rehearsed the operations of yard patrol, coastal patrol, water area inspections and life detector inspections and so on. This rehearsal has greatly shown that Shenzhen Frontier Inspection Bureau and CCT are paying lots of attentions to Anti Stowaway issue, and also has proved that CCT has all the applicable measures for Anti Stowaway actions. 6 CCT Cup Trailer Association Badminton Match completely ends Badminton Tournament was held successfully. 34 teams with over 400 participants from CCT and Shenzhen Trailer Association member enterprises took part in the tournament. There are team matches, men s single, women s single, men s doubles, over 45-year-old group, all kinds of match. Under the proper arrangement by CCT and association secretariat, the match went on smoothly and all the participants fully showed the sport-spirits and enjoyed the match. 7 ONGOING PROJECTS Qianhaiwan Logistics Park Qianhaiwan Logistics Park is owned by China Merchants and only 5 km away from CCT. It is located at the East of Pearl River Estuary, enjoys advantageous geographical location and well-developed transportation network. The multi-lane harbor expressway links the Logistics Park directly to the North Ring Road, the National Route 107 and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway.
