4 TYPES OF STRAIN GAUGES Linear strain gauge One measuring grid, strain measurement in one direction. Rosette with two measuring grids Rosettes with two measuring grids offset by 90?, analysis of the biaxial stress state with known principal directions. V-shaped gauge Two measuring grids, arranged at ±45? relative to the strain gauge axis. SPECIFICATIONS Rosette with three measuring grids Typical applications: analysis of the biaxial stress state with unknown principal stress directions. Diaphragm rosette Four measuring grid. Typical applications: manufacture of diaphragm pressure transducers. Strain Gauges Chain 10 very small measuring grids, arranged equimination of strain distantly on a common carrier, plus one compensating strain gauge. Typical applications: detergradients.
