Meeting held - Wednesday, May 25th, 1994 Council met at 7:30 p.m. Warden Willard in the Chair. Members all present with the exceptions of Councillors Shelley and H. Cuthill, who sent their regrets. The minutes of the April 27th, 1994, meeting of County Council were introduced. Moved by Councillor Anderson Seconded by Councillor Gilmore That the minutes of the April 27th, 1994, meeting of County Council be approved as circulated. CC-94-93 The agenda was introduced. Moved by Councillor Hunt Seconded by Councillor Normile That the agenda be approved. Moved in Amendment by Councillor Anderson Seconded by Councillor Williams That the Physical Services Committee Report be considered immediately following the delegation. CC-94-95 Motion CC-94-94 as amended was voted on and declared................. Warden Willard reported on his activities since the last meeting of County Council.

CC-94-96 Councillor Benn thanked Warden Willard for his attendance at Councillor and Mrs. Benn's 50th Wedding Anniversary and expressed their appreciation to Council for the floral arrangement. Alice Kingston and other residents of Newburgh attended the meeting to outline concerns regarding the proposed re-construction of County Road 11, in the Village of Newburgh. The report of the Physical Services Committee was introduced. Moved by Councillor Williams Seconded by Councillor Bullen That the report of the May 5th' 1994, meeting of the Physical Se~vices Committee be adopted. Moved by Councillor Anderson Seconded by Councillor Babcock That Item (4), of the report of the May 5th, 1994, meeting of the Physical Services Committee be separated for consideration. CC-94-98 Moved by Councillor Anderson Seconded by Councillor Hogg That the following Recommendation (4), of the report of the May 5th, 1994 meeting of the Physical Services Committee be referred back to the Committee for further consideration:- CC-94-99 "We recommend that the report from the Director, Physical Services, regarding the reconstruction of County Road No. 11 from County Road No. 17 to.5 km westerly be noted and received; And further, That the following policy with respect to roadside hazards be adopted:

And further, That in respect of the reconstruction of County Road No. 11 in the Village of Newburgh, that the recommended design be revised to reflect the retaining of the second and third trees immediately west of Church Street on the north side of the roadway protected by a barrier curb with the existing sidewalk to be left undisturbed in that vicinity and the storm sewer relocated from under the edge of pavement on the north side to the south side of the roadway - all other trees to be removed as illustrated on the plans." Motion CC-94-97 was subsequently voted on and the remainder of the report of the May 5th, 1994, meeting of the Physical Services Committee was declared.................................................. CC-94-100 Moved by Councillor Parks Seconded by Councillor Craig That correspondence from Terry Murphy, General ManagerISecretary- Treasurer, Moira River Conservation Authority, regarding the Moira River Conservation Authority regulations amendment be noted and received; and further, That the County of Lennox and Addington support the Moira River Conservation Authority's submission to the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Province of Ontario for the new Fill Construction and Alteration to Waterways Regulations as per Section 28 of the Conservation Authorities Act of Ontario. CC-94-111 Report of the Committee of the Whole (1) WE RECOMMEND that County Council confirm the Interview Committee's offer of employment of the position of Director, Social and Lenadco Home Services, to Mr. Chris Wenzel at a salary of $64,100.40 per year, effective as of July 4th, 1994; And further, That Mr. William James, the incumbent Director, Social and Lenadco Home Services, be provided with a one month extension until July 3rd, 1994, to his slated retirement from the position.

On motion, the by-law was given three readings, numbered 2527194, signed by the Warden and C.A.O./Clerk, sealed and finally passed. A by-law to amend By-law Number 2408191 to establish the retention periods for certain documents and records to be kept by the County of Lennox and Addington was introduced. On motion, the by-law was given three readings, numbered 2528194, signed by the Warden and C.A.O./Clerk, sealed and hally passed. A by-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the County of Lennox and Addington, at its meeting of May 25th, 1994, was introduced. On motion, the by-law was given three readings, numbered 2529194, signed by the Warden and C.A.O./Clerk, sealed and finally passed. On motion, Council adjourned.
