The following changes and/or substitutions to the plans and specifications are hereby made a part of same and are incorporated in full force as part of the contract. B. Bidders shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in writing on his Proposal Form. C. Clarification: Any tap fees for water or sewer are to be provided by the General Contractor. D. Clarification: Building Permit Fees are to be waived by the City of Trinity. A license is only required by the General Contractor E. Clarification: Wheeler Basin Gas will waive any fees associated with the gas line installation. F. It is the intent of the Morgan County Board of Education to award and have a contract to the contractor by mid July 2017. G. DESCRIPTION Wood flooring for basketball courts. Related work specified under other sections. 1. Concrete and Concrete Finishing Section 03300 a. Concrete Slab Depression: 2-1/8 b. Surface Finish: steel troweled and finished smooth. c. Concrete Tolerance: 1/8 (3mm) in radius of 10 (3m). d. Membrane Waterproofing and Dampproofing e. Concrete subfloors on or below grade shall be adequately waterproofed beneath the slab and at the perimeter walls and on the earth side of below grade walls by general contractor using suitable type membrane. f. Sand-Poly-Sand slab construction is not an acceptable construction. QUALITY ASSURANCE Floor System Manufacturer Qualifications: 1. Manufacturer shall be an established firm experienced in field and have been in business or a minimum of ten (10) years. 2. Manufacturer will be a member in good standing of the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA). Floor Contractor/Installer Qualifications and Certifications: 1. Flooring contractor shall be a firm experienced in flooring field and approved by manufacturer. 2. Submit a list of at least three completed projects of similar magnitude and complexity. SUBMITTALS Manufacturer's Product Data: Submit three copies of manufacturer s product data. Concrete Guidelines: 1. Submit three (3) copies of MFMA Recommendations for correct preparation, finishing and testing of concrete subfloor surfaces to receive wood flooring. Samples: 1. Submit one (1) floor sample. Sample to be made by the manufacturer and so indicated. Maintenance Literature: 1. Submit copy of Maintenance Instructions. DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING Delivery of Materials: 1. Materials shall not be delivered, stored or installed until all masonry, painting, plastering tilework, marble and terrazzo work is complete, and all overhead mechanical work, lighting, backstops, scoreboards are installed. Room temperature of 55-80 degrees Fahrenheit (13 to 27 degrees Celsius) and relative humidity of 35-50 % are to be maintained. Ideal installation/storage conditions are the same as those that will prevail when building is occupied. 2. Materials shall not be stored at the installation location if the moisture content of the concrete slab exceeds 4% or vapor transmission exceeds 4.5 pounds per 1,000 square feet (2.20 kg per 100 square meters). JOB CONDITIONS Do not install floor system until concrete has been cured 60 days and the requirements above are obtained. The General Contractor is responsible to ensure slab is clean and free of all dirt and debris prior to floor installation beginning. Permanent heat, light and ventilation shall be installed and operating during and after installation. Maintain a temperature range of 55 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (13 to 27 degrees Celsius) and a relative humidity range of 35 to 50%. Consult MFMA guidelines for further information. After floors are finished, area to be kept locked by general contractor to allow curing time for the finish. If after required curing time general contractor or owner requires use of gym, he shall protect the floor by covering with non-fibered kraft paper or red rosin paper with taped joints, until acceptance by owner (or owner s agent) of complete gymnasium floor. 631 South Hull Street Montgomery, Alabama 36104 334-834-9933

WARRANTY Manufacturer hereby warrants the floor system material specified herein to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of one year. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and any other obligation on the part of Robbins Inc. In the event of the breach of any warranty, the liability of Robbins Inc. shall be limited to repair or replacing the floor material and system components supplied by manufacturer and proven to be defective in manufacture, and shall not include any other damages, either direct or consequential. PART 2 PRODUCTS Manufacturers: The following manufacturers' products have been used to establish minimum standards for materials, workmanship and function: Robbins "BIO-CHANNEL Star EQ-1 Equal products of other manufacturers may be used in the work, provided such products have been approved by the Architect, not less than five (5) days prior to scheduled bid opening. MATERIALS: Membrane - 6 mil polyethylene sheeting Robbins "BIO-CHANNEL resilient component: 1. Resilient shock pad shall be "Zero/G Continuous Shock Pad. Pad shall be treated with Aegis MicroShield Mold-fighting component. Shock pad must have post-consumer recycled content required to achieve LEED contribution credit to this system. Robbins " BIO-CHANNEL " subfloor system: 1. Subfloor layer 3/4" x 48 x 96 CDX plywood. Exterior grade Fir on SYP. Panel shall be factory-routed and countersunk to receive channel-anchors supplied by manufacturer. 2. Subfloor fasteners - Galvanized Steel channel anchors shall be furnished by manufacturer in size and design required to anchor subfloor securely to the concrete subfloor. Channel anchor bolts to be furnished by manufacturer to secure the channel anchor to the substrate. 3. Flooring fasteners Powercleats or staples or equal floor cleats or staples, as recommended by the manufacturer. Maple flooring - 25/32 x 2-1/4, random length, 2&Btr. Maple Strip. Maple shall be finger-jointed and graded in accordance with MFMA-RL grade rules. All flooring to be tongue & grooved, end-matched and kiln-dried. Perimeter base: Robbins Inc. Vent-Cove, or approved equal. Color shall be Black. Finishing System: (Equal products by Bona, DuraSeal or Hillyard are also approved for use) Floor Sealer: Floor Finish: Gameline paint: Bona BonaSport Seal or MFMA approved equal. Bona BonaSport Finish or MFMA approved equal. All painting of lines and symbols on court system shall be Bona Industrial enamel in colors as selected by the Owner. Colors for stripping, logos, and wording shall be selected by the Owner. See drawings for layout of flooring for all sport courts, logos and sideline wording. Contractor shall submit layout to the Architect for color selection and approval of layout for the painting of the School Logo at center court and any wording at the Court baselines. Expansion joint cover: Where required at edge of all wood and concrete install Pemko 271-A expansion cover, or equal. Cover to be 5 width in color specified by architect. Equal approved by the flooring manufacturer may also be used. PART 3 EXECUTION INSPECTION: Inspect existing floor for proper dryness and tolerance and report any discrepancies to the owner in writing. All work required to put the existing floor in acceptable order shall be the responsibility of this contractor. Subfloor shall be provided to the contractor free of all equipment and broom cleaned. INSTALLATION: "Bio-Channel Star" flooring system: 1. Install polyethylene with joints lapped a minimum four inches (4"). 2. Install "Zero/G" pad on over entire subfloor. Tape edges to prevent curling. 3. Position plywood panels per manufacturer s latest guidelines. Stagger all joints and space panels 1/4" apart. 4. Place Channel Anchor in each designated pre-routed slot and fasten with provided channel anchor bolts. 5. Machine nail maple flooring to plywood subfloor straight lay pattern. FINISHING Sanding: A3.3 DRAWINGS spacing allowed for humidity changes affecting the floor. Flooring contractor shall be allowed to incorporate spacer joints in the floor to insure adequate expansion and to adjust for pattern creep. 6. Provide 2" expansion voids at all walls and vertical obstructions. Sand per manufacturer s recommendations. 1. After sanding, buff entire floor using 100 grit screen or equal grit sandpaper, with a heavy-duty buffing machine. 2. Inspect entire area of floor to insure the floor presents a smooth surface without drum stop marks, gouges, streaks or shiners. 3. Vacuum and/or tack floor before first coat of seal. 4. Floor should be clean and completely free of dirt and sanding dust. Finishing of Gymnasiums: 1. Apply specified combination of seal, gameline paint, and finish in accordance with manufacturer s instructions. 2. Buff and vacuum and/or tack between each coat after it dries. 3. Apply game lines accurately after the buffing and vacuuming the coated surfaces. Layout in accordance with drawings. For game lines, use current rules of association having jurisdiction. Lines shall be straight with sharp edges in colors selected by architect. WALL BASE INSTALLATION Install Robbins vent cove base anchored to walls with base cement or screws and anchors. Use pre-molded outside corners and neatly mitered inside corner. CLEANING Clean up all unused materials and debris and remove it from the premises. A. Clarification: The leaders from the bottom of the downspouts to the storm sewer main shall be SDR26 or SCH40, HDPE can also be substituted for PVC B. Refer to Sheet C300 and C301; All domestic and fire lines are to be furnished and installed by the City of Trinity to their respective vault locations as shown. C. Refer to Sheet C300 and C301; The contractor is to provide, install and coordinate the following associated with all the domestic and fire lines as shown: a. All valves b. All backflow preventers c. All vaults d. Fire department connection as required by local authority e. Contractor is to furnish and install domestic and fire lines as shown from vaults to building. D. Refer to Sheet C300, C301 and C601; The sewer force main line, sanitary sewer lines, manholes with associated work and the sewer lift station is to be furnished by the General Contractor using PVC PC200 pipe and coordinated with the City of Trinity for connection to existing force main E. Refer to Sheet C300; Wheeler Basin Gas will provide and install the gas lines and gas meter at no charge. The General Contractor is responsible for all gas lines beyond the meter to the building. The General Contractor is to provide a 4 concrete pad and 6 vinyl coated chain link fence with lockable access gate around meter perimeter for security (size of concrete pad and fencing limits to be determined in field during construction). F. Clarification: The tubing shown on Detail 7/S2.7 shall be stainless steel as indicated on Detail C/A6.5. G.
