Supporting an integrated approach to marketing across the English SBU and identifying opportunities across the wider operation. Context and environment: Venezuela is a challenging and exciting operating environment. The country has some of the largest oil and gas reserves in the world, however there is a perception that the wealth these have generated has tended to stay in the hands of the rich, or gone overseas, and that this has exacerbated the considerable gap between rich and poor. There is a considerable and enthusiastic market amongst our target audiences for what the British Council has to offer, especially in the areas of English, the internationalisation of education and the arts, and significant potential for income generation, sponsorship and partner funding. The teaching centre currently employs approximately 25 teachers of English on both full time and hourly paid contracts and teaches English to 1,700 adults and young learners in each of the 5 terms every year. There are several projects in progress to develop the business, in particular, an intensive summer course programme, corporate courses and an off site premises project for young learners. We will also be looking to grow the business onsite for both adults and young learners. Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties: Accountabilities You will play an important role in the growth of the Venezuela Teaching Centre business through the strategic planning and implementation of marketing budget and campaigns. You will manage digital and PR agency work for Teaching Centre monitoring the effectiveness of the implementation of campaigns, adjusting campaigns and budgets where necessary and reviewing the ROI. You will lead on the identification of market research needs, the tender and briefing of a market research agency as well as the effective analysis and use of the results to inform business development decisions. ensure increases in new registrations and re-registrations. You will be working towards the achievement of defined KPIs in both areas. Pursuit of new business- corporate clients, YLs (schools and parents associations) and onsite courses in line with agreed targets Responsibilities Promotional Materials and Wrap Around services Ensure that all promotional materials are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality and brand standards Ensure that promotional materials are relevant and meet customer expectations. Review wrap around services such as student loyalty programmes, schools loyalty programmes and benefits and ensure that they offer added value to customers and value for money to the British Council. Marketing Campaigns and Agency Management Plan and implement marketing campaigns for both Teaching Centre, exploiting where possible opportunities for cross marketing, on both on and off-line media. Manage the tendering processes for digital and PR agencies, defining the terms of reference, organising the presentations and interviews and selection of an agency that best meets the needs of the business. Manage the PR and digital agencies, with particular focus on the successful implementation of campaigns, ensuring that they are generating the level of enquiries required to be converted into registrations Business Development Pursuit of new business- corporate clients, YLs (schools and parents associations) and onsite courses in line with agreed targets Management and growth of external contracts in liaison with TCM from initial client meeting to proposal and management of the relationship Participation in client presentations, external forums and networks for the generation of new business Ensure market opportunities are monitored and acted upon in line with business development strategies Main Duties Line management of up to 3 people. Finance and Contract Management Strategic planning and monitoring of budgets to ensure maximum return on investment on campaigns.
