1 Recruitment, Events and Engagement Manager External Vacancy Post Ref: 5992 Full Time, 37 hours per week. Permanent. 30, to 30, per annum. Attractive benefits for this post includes 35 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. In this vital role, you will lead the planning and delivery of a range of campaigns and recruitment activities to maximise student recruitment and income for the College. You will develop annual plans and short-term tactical initiatives but every plan will be innovative and effective and meet the needs of the College. You will understand marketing and customer engagement. You will own an engagement funnel and work closely with the Marketing Campaigns function to maximise the conversion of leads and income generation for the College. You will be accountable for your own plans and supporting others with the development of theirs, but overall you will be responsible for maximising our engagements with our target markets. You will work closely with the Director of Marketing, Sales & Corporate Affairs and the Marketing Campaigns Manager to deliver synergy across the whole directorate and strive to be outstanding in everything that you do. You will take responsibility for event budgets and ensure they are delivered to maximum effect. Working as part of the management team in the directorate, you will ensure that strong measures are implemented and delivered to prove the value of marketing. You will need proven experience of planning and leading the delivery of outcome-focused customer events. You will also have experience of hiring facilities or working within a venue, and exceeding the needs of your customer. You will demonstrate strong product knowledge, high levels of empathy towards our audiences and the ability to change behaviour through communications and face-to-face engagements Applicants should be able to demonstrate, in their personal statement, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification. Post title Recruitment, Events & Engagement Manager Post Reference 5992 Reports to Director of Marketing, Sales & Corporate Affairs Department Marketing & Engagement Grade Contract Permanent, Full Time Location Any college campus ROLE PURPOSE To support the development of a strong marketing strategy for the college, and lead on the creation of event, recruitment and income generation plans. To deliver an innovative calendar of college events that supports our recruitment targets and increases our reputation with stakeholders. Ensure the college is highly visible externally, maximising coverage at events and conferences, and creating new event opportunities. Development initiatives to convert leads to enrolled students or engaged partners or employers. Maximising income from the commercial hire of college facilities, group bookings at commercial ventures and manage the delivery of an exceptional customer experience. Develop systems that support the delivery of the marketing strategy. Evaluate the success of events and recruitment activities, and provide recommendations for service improvement. Manage the Recruitment, Events & Engagement function and any direct reports, maximising performance. To be a proactive member of the wider directorate. To undertake other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the post.

4 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES To support the Director of Marketing, Sales & Corporate Affairs with the development and delivery of the College s Marketing Strategy. Develop an innovative annual event and engagement plan that maximises reach and conversion of leads to enrolled students, engaged stakeholder or income generated and promotes the full range of college products. Develop an annual income generate plan, with strong measurable targets. Work with the Director of Marketing, Sales & Corporate Affairs to apportion budget to events and income generation activity ensuring maximum reach and ROI. Work in collaboration with the Marketing Campaigns Manager to ensure operational marketing and event plans are aligned and deliver on strategic objectives. Be accountable for student recruitment and income generation targets, delivering marketing campaigns that maximise ROI and increase conversion of students. To plan and deliver a calendar of open events that promotes the full college offer and maximises ROI. Work with the Assistant Principal (Student and Customer Experience) to deliver an exceptional enrolment experience for learners. Deliver a programme of events to maximise student internal progression opportunities. Deliver employer and stakeholder engagement events that build the colleges reputation. Ensure events maximise the collection of data and that strong follow-up campaigns are implemented to maximise lead conversion. Plan and deliver the college s celebration of achievements, annual awards and graduation ceremonies. Build a strong calendar of external promotional events including student recruitment conferences, community events and business events. Use market data to analyse and position external events for maximum ROI and to support the penetration of new markets. Working with the Senior Leadership Team and the Director of Marketing, Sales & Corporate Affairs, plan a programme of sponsorship for external events that maximises ROI for the college.

5 Develop strong relationships with local schools, community groups and business networks to maximise college exposure. Implement a school liaison and external event plan that promotes early engagement with students and supports the Marketing Campaigns Manager in creating ongoing dialogue with learners. Manage the college s Customer Engagement Team to improve customer service and maximise the conversion of leads to applications and enrolled learners. Manage the college s Admissions Function to provide an outstanding application process for learners and for curriculum colleagues. Work with the college s Apprenticeship, Business Development and Placement Teams to streamline the application process for apprentices. Ensure that all event opportunities and engagements maximise the collection of data. Work with the Marketing Campaigns Manager to ensure automation of engagement messages, and reengagement procedures are in place. Work with curriculum colleagues to plan, develop and deliver a strong programme of keeping warm events, maximising attendance, experience and conversion. Maximise the conversion of leads to engagement with business partners and stakeholders. Plan engagement campaigns for the Outbound Sales Officer to maximise income or lead generation for the college. Establish a business partner network to promote the college s commercial ventures and support the campaign delivery of the Marketing Campaigns Manager. Work with the Business Development department and curriculum colleagues to deliver outbound sales campaigns that supports the promotion of our apprenticeship and training offer to local businesses. Develop the college s website, working with internal partners and external agencies. Develop marketing and college-wide systems that manage student and partner interactions, report on their success and implement creative solutions to maximise ROI. Work with the whole directorate to develop new, innovative, solutions that lead to efficiencies and improve the accuracy of the information we hold and use. Working with the Director of Marketing, Sales & Corporate Affairs and the Recruitment, Events & Engagement Manager to establish marketing KPIs, including but not exclusively

6 the monitoring of Customer Lifetime Value, Customer Acquisition Cost, Marketing ROI and Marketing Lead Conversion rates. Ensure to tools and processes are available to analyse every aspect of the college s marketing department. Provide management reports on the success of all events and customer engagements, progress against KPIs and evaluation of campaign objectives, making recommendations on improvements to future strategies, plans or business operations. Manage the direct reports of the department and ensure their performance leads is outstanding, delivering high levels of quality and managing performance concerns effectively. To lead, or support, the delivery of college recruitment and corporate events as required. Act as an internal advisor for the marketing department, and the wider college, on the delivery of recruitment activities. Ensure all tools and systems are used to their maximum effect. Champion the College s brand message, identity and manage its implementation across the whole college. To deputise for the Director of Marketing, Sales & Corporate Affairs as required. GENERAL To work at any of the College sites on a temporary or indefinite basis. To undertake such duties as are reasonably allocated, appropriate to the grade of the post Comply with College Policies and Procedures and the Staff Code of Conduct which can be accessed via Alfresco. 8 Person Specification Post Title: Recruitment, Events and Engagement Manager Post Ref: 5992 CRITERIA ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT DESIRABLE REQUIREMENT Skills/Knowledge/Aptitude Significant knowledge of marketing events, recruitment and how to reach new audiences. Highly competent in the use of digital. A creative approach to delivery events and engagement activity. Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders for the benefit of the organisation. An understanding of marketing based ROI principles. Excellent oral and written communication skills Qualifications and Training A Level 6 qualification in an events related discipline. A qualification in marketing related discipline (level 3 or above) Level 2 English and maths qualification Experience Substantial experience of working in a marketing or events role within an educational environment. Experience of managing events and/ or admissions staff. Significant experience of delivering high quality events. Experience in managing people, and their performance. Experience of building brand and reputation. Experience of establishing and measuring marketing ROI.

9 Experience of commercial hire preferably from a hotel background.
