JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Primary School Sport Coach & Dance Deliverer Reports to: Primary Schools Manager Salary: 15,112-16,575 (pro rata) Hours: 16 25 hours per week reviewed annually Role Purpose: Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) is the charitable arm of Burton Albion FC and as BACT continues to develop its school sport offer we wish to appoint a full time Primary School Sport Coach & Deliverer to deliver high quality school sport programmes within the thriving community scheme. Reporting directly to BACT s Primary Schools Manager the post holder will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation their delivery within the School Sports Programme and delivering a high quality schools coaching and dance sessions across East Staffordshire. The role will also include delivery on our Premier League Primary Stars programme as well as some of our PSHE programmes within a primary setting. A passion for Primary School Sport and an understanding of the school sport environment is essential to the role. The role will also include coaching across other departments of BACT as and when required and agreed with the Primary Schools Manager. The work will be varied and the ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines is essential. You must have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for Community Sport, working as part of a team and have a can do attitude. Applicants must have good communication skills, and be excellent timekeepers. The Primary School Sport Coach & Dance Deliverer will work alongside the Primary Schools Manager to:-
1.01. To plan, deliver and review high quality school sport coaching programmes to support the children & teachers 1.02. Sustain existing and create new relationships in the local community 1.03. Establish and maintain effective internal and external communication systems to manage and promote school sport specific activities within BACT 1.04. Support to ensure all coaching staff adhere to BACT Health & Safety / safeguarding policies 2. The Primary School Sport Coach & Dance Deliverer will be responsible for: 2.01. Delivery of Primary School Sport programmes including, PPA, Curriculum, Team Teaching and Extra Curricular coaching 2.02. Plan and deliver BACT Primary Stars programme and other related PSHE programmes 2.03. To support with the monitoring and evaluation of activities linked to Primary School Sport programmes 2.04. Ensure all BACT policies and procedures including HR are implemented 2.05. Being a key contact for various School Sport programmes 2.06. Ensure all assigned programmes are marketed and promoted on BACT website and social media channels 2.07. Track progress of children & teachers through the BACT monitoring systems and measure the impact coaching sessions have on participants 2.08. PERSON SPECIFICATION Education / Qualifications Various National Governing Body Level 2 Coaching Qualifications Current Safeguarding Certificate Current First Aid Certificate Dance Instructor qualification Level 3 AFPE (or willing to work towards) Educated to degree level FA Youth Award qualification Knowledge and Experience At least 2 years working within a schools or coaching environment Strong understanding of Burton and the surrounding areas Experience of working with a variety of agencies / schools to ensure efficient delivery of programmes Experience of monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the safety and quality of programmes Developing plans relating to your work within your organisation Monitoring and evaluating impact of coaching projects and initiatives Experience of working to achieve performance targets Skills and Competencies Ability to represent BACT and communicate with all potential contacts (staff, managers, teachers, public of all ages) whilst presenting a professional image Good level of ICT literacy with knowledge of Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook Ability to engage with people from all backgrounds and strong networking skills Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours e.g. evenings & weekends to meet the needs of the community Equality & Inclusivity Ability to work in a non-discriminatory manner, in accordance with Burton Albion Community Trust s Equality Policy
