All s include a number of qualifications including a competence-based Certificate or Diploma, Functional Skills in English and maths and, sometimes, information technology. With some s, job-specific knowledge and skills are taught as a separate qualification. s also include awareness of employment rights and responsibilities as well as personal learning and thinking skills. There are no specific entry requirements to become an apprentice; however an employer may specify entry requirements for a particular job role, which may include English and maths. s are available at three levels: An Intermediate is ideal if you are in a first job or have changed jobs and need to learn new skills. Accounting AAT Intermediate Advanced Accounting AAT Higher Business Administration Intermediate Business Administration Advanced Level: 4 Newhaven Campus or Following on from the AAT Certificate in Accounting Level 2, this introduces more complex financial accounting and costing techniques, cash management and the preparation of reports and returns. This is the final year course for students who have achieved the AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3. Financial and management accounting concepts are further developed at this level, as well as the study of personal and business taxation. This will help you to gain recognition of skills in a wide range of administrative tasks including the use of diary systems, supporting meetings and event coordination. With the inclusion of optional IT or HR units you can tailor the programme to suit your role. You will also work towards a Certificate in Principles of Administration. This will develop your essential knowledge and theory of basic and more complex administrative tasks, plus gain an understanding of project management, innovation and change in the business environment. As part of the you will also be required to work towards Functional Skills in English, maths and ICT. This Advanced will enable you to develop and demonstrate your understanding and skills in a range of administrative activities including information management, event coordination, implementing procedures and systems, business decision-making and resource and project management. Business Administration Higher Customer Service Intermediate Customer Service Advanced Enterprise Advanced Level: 4 This qualification is aimed at roles including Office Managers, Administration Team Leaders, Personal Assistants and Business Development Executives. The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Administration plus Functional skills in English, Information Communication Technology and Maths at levels 2. The level 4 Diploma in Professional Administration (technical certificate) delivered alongside the other qualifications. You will study the delivery of effective customer service how customers needs and expectations are formed, how to respond to customers problems or complaints and the legislation which supports the customer service process. In the Customer Service NVQ Certificate you will have an opportunity to show existing competence over a wide range of themes such as impression and image, customer service delivery, handling problems and development and improvement, enabling you to develop your practice as required. Advanced ILM This qualification is ideal for first line managers with a range of responsibilities. You will demonstrate your skills in allocating work to team members, colleagues or contractors; achieving specific results, managing financial and physical resources; and some degree of decision making. Team Leading Intermediate This has been designed for team leaders who have some personal autonomy and responsibility, and who collaborate with others to deliver work. It provides the opportunity to develop the core competences needed by team leaders in today s dynamic business world. It will enable you to gain recognition of skills in a wide range of team leading tasks, such as managing personal development, developing working relationships with colleagues, communicating information and knowledge, setting objectives and providing support for team members, and allocating and monitoring the work of a team. With the inclusion of optional units, you can tailor the course to suit your role. Your English, maths, IT and personal learning and thinking skills will also be assessed. CHILDCARE, HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE Childcare, Health and Social Care Children and Young Person s Workforce Development Intermediate This includes the Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People s Workforce. This qualification will help you build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas, working in children s settings including early years and social care. Childcare, Health and Social Care Childcare, Health and Social Care Childcare, Health and Social Care Childcare, Health and Social Care Children and Young Person's Workforce Development Advanced (Social Care Pathway) This course is the only Level 3 QCF qualification that will confer occupational competence for entry into the children and young person s workforce. It will guide and assess development of knowledge and skills relating to early learning and childcare, social care, learning development and support services workforces. Where appropriate, it also confirms competence in these areas and serves as the required qualification for all new practitioners for registration and regulatory requirements in the children and young person s workforce. Children s and Young Person s Workforce Development Advanced (Early Years Pathway) This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years old. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and this is the Early Years pathway. It is also a must-have for all practitioners delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage, and those undertaking the Level 3 Children and Young People s. Health and Social Care Advanced Health and Social Care Apprentices are employed by a wide range of Health and Social care providers. The covers the NVQ Diploma Level 2 in Trowel Occupation plus Functional Skills in English and maths at Level 1, plus the Construction Skills Diploma in Bricklaying at Level 2. You will also study the ERR (Employee Rights and Responsibilities) as part of the full framework. This programme in Trowel Occupations (Bricklaying) is suitable for those who are employed by a company in the construction industry, and is designed to deliver the technical aspects of bricklaying at the same time students gather evidence of their competence as a bricklayer on site. The Advanced covers the NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Trowel Occupations plus Functional Skills in English and maths at Level 2, plus the Construction Skills Diploma in Bricklaying at Level 3. The Advanced covers the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Wood Occupations plus Functional Skills in English and maths at Level 2, plus the Construction Skills Diploma in Carpentry or Joinery Level 3, which is completed in parallel with the NVQ qualification. NVQ level 2 Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations plus functional skills at levels 1 in maths, English and ICT, plus the technical certificate at level 2 which is completed in parallel with the NVQ Diploma. Progression pathway from L2 - NVQ level 3 Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations plus functional skills at levels 2 in maths, English and ICT plus the technical certificate at level 3, which is completed in parallel with the NVQ Diploma. This is for those currently employed in the plumbing, heating or related trades. Construction and the Built Environment Plumbing and Heating Advanced ENGINEERING & ELECTRICAL Engineering and Electrical Motor Vehicle Body and Paint Operations Intermediate Engineering and Electrical Motor Vehicle Body and Paint Advanced Min 2 year This programme in Plumbing is suitable for those currently in employment in plumbing, heating or related trades. The Advanced follows the solar thermal route, giving the learner competence in this environmental specialism. In the workplace you will carry out similar tasks as part of your normal employment and will also be assessed on these by our Assessor, who will visit to check your progress. You will be taught how to make a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence. If you do not already have GSCE English, maths and IT at grade C or above, you will take an equivalent Functional Skills qualification, which is a requirement of all programmes. Min 2 year The will equip you with the skills to form the basis of a career in the motor vehicle body repair industry. At College you will combine workshop-based training with the necessary theory needed for modern vehicle body repair. You will develop your welding skills including an introduction to MIG brazing and make use of more advanced tools such the plasma cutter. Engineering and Electrical Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Intermediate Engineering and Electrical Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Advanced HOSPITALITY AND CATERING Beverage Service Intermediate Min 2 year This will equip you with the skills to form the basis of a career in the motor vehicle maintenance and repair industry. In College you will learn the basics of how vehicle components operate individually and how they work together to form the systems of the vehicle, such as braking and steering. You will then build your understanding of more complex operating systems such as charging systems (electrics) and fuel injection. Vehicle maintenance and repair is increasingly technical and theory lessons will help you in developing your knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects of the subject.
